Mr. Michael Brandon Wilcoxson

In Loving Memory Of Michael Brandon Wilcoxson was born April 3, 1987 to the parents of Chester and Linda Wilcoxson. He was the first of many children that was baptized under Pastor William Yonker, at Berea Lutheran Church. Michael was always a happy smiling, fun loving, child whose personality and friendship touched all people of different races and ages. He started his education at Greenfield Peace Lutheran School and there he was known as Mr. Peace-Maker - This affectionate name that he had since he was five years old would follow him throughout his entire life. He then attended and graduated from Detroit Urban Lutheran School/High School, where again he made many friends. He ran track and played baseball in his junior year and earned his varsity letter in football. Michael was a people person and during the summer he attended the YMCA Southeast Campus and befriended tons of people and also met new friends (Brandon, Danny, Joe and Marshall) who all became Youth Leaders and Youth Counselors. This interaction with the YMCA, made him realize his passion was to become a fitness coach and a preschool teacher. He attended Oakland Community College and earned his Associate Degree, and started doing what he loved the most; making exercising videos and working with preschool children, earning him the nick-name of ”Mr. Mike.” Mike had a way of lighting up every empty room he entered; his infectious laughter and huge grin would bring a smile to your face. He believed there was nothing like family and love. Mike looked forward to every family meeting, picnic, reunion and party. His one-of-a-kind vocal talent will surely be missed at family karaoke and his dance moves still cannot be duplicated to this day (side-eye). On Wednesday, December 29, 2021 the Lord called him home, his struggles are now over. He leaves to celebrate his homegoing, his parents Chester Lee and Linda Ruth Wilcoxson, one Great-Uncle Joseph Weems (Patricia) one Great-Auntie Katie Johnson, two Aunties Regina Williams (Maury), Cynthia Wallace, one Special Cousin Donald “Unc” Perkins, Life Time Friends Quintin Buffington, Daniel Dobbins Joseph Cain, Brandon Davis, Daniel Morris, Marshall Spruill and a host of cousins and friends.
