Mrs. Lillie B. Moss

Celebrating The Life of Lillie B. Moss Lillie B. Ragland was born in Marietta, Georgia to the late Leroy and Effie Mae Ragland on April 21, 1929. To this union seven children were born. Lillie received her education in her hometown of Marietta. She later married Willie E. Rogers Sr. who preceded her in death. To this union four children were born. Family members lovingly called her "B." and "Lillie B." was how she was addressed by many of her friends. In 1952 she moved to Detroit, Michigan. One of the greatest accomplishments of her life was caring for and nurturing her family. She was gifted with multiple talents which included sewing and cooking. Lillie was very resourceful and in her senior years, added computer skills to her list of abilities. Above all, she valued her gift of being a devoted wife and loving mother. She was truly a virtuous woman indeed. Because of the example she set before her children, Lillie was blessed to witness the fruit of her labor as her children accepted Christ, and were baptized, which was the beginning of their spiritual foundation. Lillie accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. During the span of her 87 years, she served faithfully in several ministries. One of her first assignments was at Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor, Rev. Rufus Miller Sr. She served as president of the usher board and missionary board, worked tirelessly on many committees along with countless fund raisers with her dear friends Sister Annie Perry and Brother Simmons. During the next phase of her life she married Rev. Hubert Moss and put her whole heart and strength into helping him establish and build the Greater Fellowship Baptist Church. It was truly a labor of love. As life goes, sometimes after triumph comes great pain. Although Mother Moss, (as she was so often called by many) was a pillar of faith, she faced a dark and challenging season in her life. It was during this time of testing that the Lord directed her to Rhema Word Ministries. Rhema means, a word straight from the mouth of God. It was by the anointed teaching and preaching of Apostle/Pastor Eugene Smith that Mother Moss received the pure oxygen of the word of God. She was revived and brought back to life spiritually. Apostle Smith would always say "come over here where the table is spread and the feast of the lord is going on." She was full of life and love. She was full of both salt and sugar. God gave her the perfect balance between the two. While serving at Rhema Word one of her assignments was with the food ministry. She orchestrated and distributed natural food to the hungry and spiritual food to the lost. Her last station of service was done very powerfully at Builders of the Kingdom Ministries under the Pastoral oversight of Hubert Bell (whom she lovingly always called her son), and her daughter, Lillie Bell. She loved traveling to various conventions and conferences to hear the word of God. She never tired of hearing and doing the word. People of all ages loved and cherished her. They felt it was an honor to be mentored by her. Many tried to emulate and pattern their lives after hers. She was always a picture of elegance and style from head to toe. The beauty she displayed was a reflection of the Christ within. Mother Moss was a prayer warrior, a woman of faith, grace and integrity. As it is stated in 1 Peter 3:15 she was always ready to give an answer to every man who asked about why we have our hope in Christ. Her favorite song was, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." She meant that literally. Lillie was truly a "commander in chief" in the army of the Lord. She was called to rest from her labor into the arms of her precious Lord on December 17, 2016. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me write blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: yea, saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labour; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:13.
