Mr. Jessie Lee Huffman

In Loving Memory Of Jessie Lee Huffman was born on November 15, 1947. He was the 6th of six children born to Sylvester and Iola Douglas Huffman in Hayti, Missouri. He had five siblings, three brothers, and two sisters. His mother raised two grandsons: Dennis Ray Huffman and DeAngelo Ricardo Huffman. His Mom and Dad, three brothers, one sister, two nephews, and one daughter; Iola and Sylvester Huffman, Sylvester Huffman Junior, Arthur Jay Huffman, Henry C. Huffman, Sylvia Huffman Cook, Dennis R. Huffman, DeAngelo R. Huffman, and his daughter LaShunda R. Reeves-El (Huffman) preceded him in death. Jessie Lee Huffman confessed a hope in Christ at Mount Oliver MB Church under the leadership of Reverend E.D. Kinnard. Jessie Lee Huffman graduated in May 1966, from Hayti Central High School in Hayti, Missouri completing 12 years without missing a day out of school. He was honored by the principal E.W. Nelson. He was united in holy matrimony to Betty Jean Spann on April 21, 1970. Betty J. Huffman was his high school sweetheart. And to this union of 53 years, two children were born: Lashunda R. Reeves-El (Huffman) and Tiffany M. Huffman, all from Detroit, MI. Lashunda R. Reeves-El (Huffman) preceded Jessie Lee Huffman in death on November 7, 2021. Jessie L. Huffman received his Bachelor of Arts degree on January 19, 1978, through Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont and went on to teach in the public school system as a substitute teacher. He also worked and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2006. He had several duties during his time there as a mail carrier, Union Steward and Lead custodian. Jessie Lee Huffman retired from the Armed Forces of the United States of America with high ranking and honors as Master Sergeant (E8) on his birthday November 15, 2007. He also proudly served in the Navy, and the Army Reserved. Jessie Lee Huffman made his transition to be with God on October 2, 2023. His memory and love will forever be cherished by his wife: Betty J. Huffman, his daughter; Tiffany M. Huffman with his grandsons; Semad Thompson Huffman, Eden Huffman and granddaughter Londynn Thompson, his oldest granddaughter; Shaneata Huffman Reeves; with his great-granddaughters; Myracle and Jurnee, and great-grandson Sincere Reeves-Owens, his granddaughter Leunda Webster; with his great-granddaughter Kind LaShunda Lee Webster. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
