Celebrating The Life Of Jennifer D. Johnson The Protector, Jennifer was born in Detroit, Michigan to Howard and Walterine. Jennifer accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Jennifer lived by God's word and studied the word every day. Jennifer's mother was a God-fearing and industrious woman who instilled values in her children to make them acceptable in accordance to God's word. Her mom was a protector of her family and the one's she loved. Her mom, was a giver from the heart, and these characteristics she passed on to Jennifer and her other children. Jennifer's father was an ambitious, industrious, tough and a hard working man whose achievements included establishing the largest respected minority Construction Company in Michigan that was awarded State and federal contracts throughout his career. Born with these combined strengths, Jennifer forged her way in life. Jennifer graduated from Southwestern High School January 29, 1971. She joined the work force immediately after graduating and was a productive member of society. She went to work for Uniroyal and worked for them until the closing of their factory. After the closing, Jennifer went to work for U.S. Gypsum a building material manufacturer as a Hi-Lo driver for several years before joining the Ford Motor Company family. Jennifer loved working and being productive. Jennifer met Roderick Johnson Sr., at Ford Motor Company on the first day of her introduction tour of the Ford Facility. It's apparent and appears that Mr. Johnson wooed her the first day with "a welcome to Ford's baby." That by chance encounter would develop into a lifelong companionship and marriage on October 24, 1984. They made it a permanent lifetime union in which they committed to each other till death do us part, and so the journey began. Roderick Sr. said to his wife "I have all these girls, I need a son" and Jennifer said "I'll give you a son" and so she did. To this union they brought into this world a wonderful son Roderick Johnson Jr., they adored their children and raised Tomika and Roderick with all the love they could muster. Jennifer was a doll collector. She collected Barbie dolls, a collection that spans her lifetime. Tomika was her mom's living Barbie doll. Jennifer loved dressing stylish, classy, and sophisticated, but unique and she lavished her son and daughter with her stylish love of fashion. Jennifer loved dressing and primping her children. Jennifer is a provider and a tough hard working woman who was protective of her family and those she loved, a Lioness. She retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years and became a devoted grandmother to Eddie and Tre'von.
