Mr. Carmichael Moss

On March 3, 1965 Carmichael Moss, who was affectionately known as “Mike,”was born to Willie James Moss and Cathy Ilene Moss Williams in Montgomery, Alabama. He was the second of three children born to that union. Mike was educated in the Detroit Public School system. He was named by his Father after Stokely Carmichael. Mike’s name was definitely fitting because he was a fighter, very inquisitive and up for a dare. Mike was rambunctious, tough, quick witted and loved to dress and had an unmistakable swag with an infectious smile that brought joy to everyone around him. Mike and Myrna met while attending Drew Middle School. After coming into manhood he ran into Myrna again in 1996. On June 12,1999 they were united in holy matrimony. Mike, who always gave nicknames, affectionately referred to his Myrna as “Woo.” Mike was a great dancer and an avid sports enthusiast. He would turn a non-sports fanatic into one. He knew statistics of players of several teams and records of teams. His favorite team of all was The Detroit Lions. He loved those Detroit Lions and He was a Lion at heart. One of Mike’s favorite pastimes was watching boxing with his friend/brother Reggie. In addition, Mike gave everyone a special name, “Knee Deep,” “T Love,” “JD”, "M One” just to name a few. Indeed he was a very special man. Mike enjoyed his special television programs including Bar Rescue, Reels and documentaries. He also loved movies involving combat, gangsters, and the military . About 15 years ago he began facing health challenges. The Doctors would count him out but he fought his way through and prevailed over and over again. Carmichael made his final journey of the highest calling on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 5:30 am. He was surrounded by loved ones. Carmichael was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James Moss and Cathy Ilene Moss Williams; brother, Damon Mario Moss and stepson, Terell Antonio Graham. Carmichael leaves to cherish his memory: beloved wife, Myrna Micshelle; stepsons, Anthony Graham, Marcus Graham; sister, Vanessa Marie; granddaughter, Taranyja Graham who he affectionately called “Honey Bunch;” niece, Tiffany Hardwick (Charles); nephews, Joseph Smith, Travis V. Wilson (Louvenia), Myles Julian Wilson; sisters-in-law, Darlene Smith, Denise Chaney and Flomenthia Lambert; brothers-in-law, Orlando Chaney, Rodney Chaney (Charlena) and his honorary brother, Reggie Grays. And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
