BORN Renee Deshon Gaines was born on September 1, 1967 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the second youngest of five children born to her beloved mother Annette Delores Gaines and father Henry Thomas Elam. LIFE Renee accepted God as her personal Savior at a early age. She attended Highland Park Schools and received her high school diploma. She also attended Virginia Farrell Beauty School in Southfield, Michigan and received her certification as a Cosmetologist. After completion of cosmetology school she worked in retail as a manager for over ten years and loved what she did. She loved family, her city Highland Park, MI, music, concerts, watching television, Red Pop, Betty Boo, restaurants, laughing, entertaining loved ones and visiting parks. Renee also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, that was the light of her world. She was a realist; she spoke what was on her mind and followed through in what she believed in. DEATH On September 9, 2021 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, Renee received her wings and made a transition with God. MEMORIES While leaving to celebrate her life, love, and legacy by her two children, Stanley Mason Jr. and Shakia Gaines, ten grandchildren Sabreyia J. Mason, Teleyona J. Washington, Tamia J. Washington, Timothy J. Washington III, Amarreyia L. Gaines, Amina L. Gaines; her angel Daryl Townsend Sr., his son Daryl Townsend Jr; two brothers Anthony Gaines and Lionell Gaines, and several godsisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-aunts and uncles, in-laws, Big Dorothy, Dorothy Stone, Rosemary Stone, Damon Gaines, Otis Lee III, Alexis Gaines, Yolanda Jones, Pooda and a host of relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her mother Annette Gaines, brother Henry Gaines and sister Delphine Gaines.
