Mr. Phanor Bernard Johnson Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

In Loving Memory Of: Phanor Bernard Johnson Sr. made an awesome entrance into this world on December 18, 1951, and he was the 3rd of 10 children. He was the proud son of Warneddia Wings and Edgar Johnson Sr. who both preceded him in death. Phanor was educated in the Detroit Public Schools System and graduated from Henry Ford High School. He went on to enlist in the United States Army, September 5, 1978 where he served faithfully until 1982. He went on to join the Army Reserve where he spent his time traveling the globe. He lived in such places as Germany, and California, just to name a few. He completed his Psychosocial Training Certificate with Veterans. During his stay in California, he opened his own tailoring business where he designed many different suits, shirts, and pants for both men and women. While there in California Phanor met and married Carolyne who preceded him in death. Shortly thereafter he returned to Detroit, MI. Even though he was still actively enlisted in the Army Reserve until 2011, he began detailing cars at Scotty B’s where he was loved and affectionately called “Shorty”. On October 30, 2021 he entered from labor into rest. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Eureka Greer and son Phanor Johnson Jr. (Lashay); grandchildren Autumi Snipes, Melissa Johnson, Seena and Dejuan Hill, Iziha and K’yell Johnson; nine siblings, of which Edgar, Ronald and Donald Johnson preceded him in death DeBorah Brock- Maliki, Yvonne Commodore, Dietrich Johnson, Diana Dorn, Ethel Johnson (Michael), Frederica Jeanbaptiste (Fequiere); one sister-in-law Deborah Johnson; a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.
