December 2, 1955 - March 17, 2022
In Loving Memory Of Patricia Lee McGee Thomas began life’s journey on December 2, 1955, in Mobile, Alabama. Her birth was celebrated by her loving parents the late Deacon Jimmie Lee and Queen Ester McGee. She was the seventh of eleven children born to this union. In 1957, Jimmie and Queen relocated their family to Detroit, Michigan, and from there moved to Highland Park, Michigan where she grew up and was educated in the Highland Park School system. Pat confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. She was a member New Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend P. J. Ruckes. She later moved her membership to New Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Carl J. Curry. Pat worked in the field of healthcare until she retired in 2010. She took full advantage of her retirement, and now had lots of time to enjoy living her life with family gatherings, barbeques, and celebrating everyone’s birthdays. She loved dancing… “it was her legacy.” Pat had her very own style of dancing that cannot be duplicated, the girl could cut a rug! There are no words to adequately describe Pat. She meant so much to so many people. She was a giving spirit that radiated love, and kindness. She never met a stranger on her journey through this life. On March 17, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family, Pat boarded the morning train bound for Glory. She leaves to rejoice in celebration of her life, one son, Rondell Thomas, three grandchildren, Saraya, Ashya, and Nylan. Her siblings, Ruth (Ronald), Bernice, Carrie, Vivian, Queen, Anita (Alan), Yvonne, Jimmie Jr., Cartney. Uncle Willis Woods, our devoted Aunt Estella, Aunt Marilyn, thirty-two nieces and nephews, sixty-two great-nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, friends, loved ones, and a very special sister-friend, Zemoria Franklin (ZZ). One sister, Dorothy, a niece, Quentina, and two nephews, Ronald and Roland preceded her in death. Surely God is my salvation I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, Jehovah, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2
