Mr. Norris Wayne Williams Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

In Loving Memory Of On January 8, 1951, the sun rose on Norris Wayne Williams in Tyler, Texas to the late Sammie and Odessa Williams. Norris was the third eldest of twelve siblings. Norris was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Sammie and Odessa Williams. Three brothers: Anthony, Sam, and Thomas Williams. Three sisters: Karolyn, Marilyn, and Etta Williams. Norris along with his sisters and brothers moved to Detroit, MI with their parents at very early age where he received his education within the Detroit Public School System. After reaching his adult age Norris decided to join the United States Marine Corps for a short term. Soon after Norris met and married a young lady that put a "SPARKLE" in his eyes by the name of Barbara Hurst. He became a loving Father to his three step children. His wife Barbara also preceded him in death. Norris was a "UNIQUE" yet charming man. Norris was a devoted man when it came to his siblings, nieces and nephews. Whenever he was called upon by his family, Norris wouldn't hesitate to come if you needed his assistance. Norris was a very serious minded person, you would know how to come to him when it came down to some serious business. He didn't play when it came to business. Norris liked to play cards, especially Spades and Bid Wiz! He was the dominant player when it came down to card games. Norris was your man if you wanted to WIN!!!! Norris was the one to call on when it was time to cook for many Family Functions!!! Yes he was famous for his "Que" ( Barbeque)!!! Norris was the man on the grill!!! On May 20, 2022 the sun set on our beloved Norris Wayne Williams. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, three step children: Carla (David) Hurst-Johnson, Willie ( Ebony) Hurst, Paul Hurst, three grandchildren: Diamond Polk, Xavier Hurst, and Zion Hurst all of Detroit, MI. Four brothers: Larry Williams, Dennis Williams, Keith Williams and Franklin Williams all of Detroit, MI. One sister: Cheryl Williams of Detroit, MI. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
