Ms Lisa Benning

May 2, 1963 - January 18, 2022

Lipscomb and Mary Ann Lipscomb. Lisa accepted Christ at an early age. Lisa loved the Lord. She attended many churches from Word of Faith to Triedstone Baptist Church to Gospel Temple Baptist Church here in the city. Lisa attended Detroit Public Schools from elementary through high school but continued to further her education throughout her lifetime. With her eagerness to learn, she attended several trade schools and colleges earning herself ample certificates of completion. Utilizing her many skills, Lisa was employed until the day of her retirement on October 24th, 2021. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Lisa. She loved interior decorating, shopping, styling hair, writing, fishing, traveling, helping others, and of course taking pictures. In fact, Lisa just loved to laugh and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Lisa joined with Amil Billy Gardner and to this union, her daughter Kiawana was born in 1982. Lisa joined with Daryl Benning and to this union, her son Michael was born in 1987. Lisa suddenly departed this life on January 18th, 2022 and will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister (Antoinette Robinson), and brother (Oliver Lipscomb). Lisa is survived by her daughter, Kiawana also known as Kiki; her son, Michael, also known as Mike B; her oldest brother, Donnell Lipscomb; her youngest brother, John Lipscomb; sister, Fannie Lipscomb-Jiles; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
