Mr. Henry Alfred Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

In Loving Memory Of Henry Alfred Brown affectionately known to family and friends as “Al” was born on June 24, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Betty Rushin Brown and James Polk Brown, the youngest child of thirteen. Al accepted Christ at an early age. Al attended Pearl High School in Nashville, Tennessee where he developed a love for mechanics, he loved anything with a motor. After high school, Al proudly served his country as he was inducted into the Army and saw the world with a duty station in Germany. After honorably being discharged from service and returning home, Al made his way North to Detroit, MI to find work in the bustling Auto Industry and was employed at Cadillac Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant, where he held many positions until he found his niche’ as a test driver on the proving grounds. Al was a dedicated hardworking employee and UAW member with thirty-one years of service until his retirement in October of 1995. Al was blessed with a son in 1970. Soon after he was joined in holy matrimony on August 9, 1975, and a lifetime relationship began when he wed Berniedine Robinson Brown who preceded him in death after thirty-eight years of marriage. No children were born to this union, however he served as a surrogate father to his cousin Sherria Palmer and insured she was raised and educated properly. Al was a pillar in his community, well respected by his neighbors whom he looked after and took great pride in being the good neighbor and neighborhood watch. Al made his transition at home on May 23, 2022.
