Ms. Felicia Marie Beckom Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Felicia Marie Beckom A devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend, Felicia (FeFe) Marie Beckom passed May 30, 2022 in her sleep. She was born June 5, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan and was the second of four children from the union of the late Pete Beckom and Betty Sanders Beckom. Felicia was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and a very spiritual person who enjoyed watching and listening to the ministries and teachings of Triumph Church Pastor Rev. Solomon Kinloch, Jr., Joyce Meyer and gospel singer Yolanda Adams as well as other religious and spiritual leaders. First and foremost, Felicia was devoted to her son, Justin Lewis, and mother Betty. She loved them unconditionally and did everything she could to support and nurture them. As a single mother, Felicia knew that she would need to serve many roles and did so with compassion and never lamented about any of the challenges she encountered or asked “why me?” She often shared ventures with her mother, aka ‘My Favorite Girl’ and her son, aka ‘My One and Only’ with her Facebook family. She managed to build quite a following with many looking forward to the antics and pictures that made them laugh. Felicia was a true friend and cherished many lifelong friendships. She was especially close to Yvette Baburam, Endia Jackson, Cynthia White-McPhau. Mavis Rankin, Toni Smith and Sonja Barney-Tate. Similarly, Felicia had a special relationship with patients she met as the front desk receptionist during her nearly 30 years of employment at the Karmanos Cancer Institute. She shared a deep connection with countless patients and was able to put a smile on their faces during a challenging time in their lives. She was very empathetic and reassuring. Felicia also spoke highly of and greatly respected many of the doctors and colleagues that she worked with at Karmanos. Felicia graduated from Central High School and attended Knoxville College in Tennessee and Wayne State University. She was a proud Central Trailblazer for life!! Felicia was an integral part of the alumni association and participated in many school events. She was also a very knowledgeable and passionate sports enthusiast who closely followed most athletic events and competitions. Felicia was very photogenic. Her radiant smile and boisterous laughter were memorable. She will be remembered by many as a person who was kind, giving and selfless. Felicia was called home on Memorial Day, May 30th, 2022. In addition to her son and mother, she is survived by her brothers Rodney and Maurice, nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends and family members. Felicia was preceded in death by her father, sister Yolanda, maternal grandparents: Lonzo and Thelma Sanders and paternal grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Joseph (Joe) Beckom.
