Ms. Yvonne Wesley

In Loving Memory Of Yvonne Wesley (Bailey) was born May 11, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the second child to late Eddie Bailey Sr. and Alice Womack Bailey. Although Yvonne was born and reared in Detroit, Michigan, she would often reminisce about the years she and the family spent living in Long Beach, California. Yvonne was educated in the Detroit Public School system. In 1972, she graduated from Pershing High School. After high school attended evening courses in Surgical Technology at Marygrove College while working as a Candy Striper at Grace Hospital. Yvonne met and married Homer C. Wesley. To this union, one child was born. The wisdom that she inspired was faith and prayer. In times of trouble, she would often cite “Prayer changes things.” Surgery was Yvonne’s passion. She graduated from Highland Park Community College with a Certificate in Surgical Technology in 1984. She later graduated from Wayne County Community College with a Degree in Surgical Technology. Yvonne also became a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) and towards the end of her career she became a Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant (CSTFA). Yvonne spent 31 years working and teaching surgical technology at various hospitals. In 2007, she was featured in a televised commercial to promote the Surgical Technology Program at Wayne County Community College. Yvonne’s commitment to the Healthcare Profession did not stop when she left the hospital. She used her medical expertise to care for family members. She also helped family members who were in the dawn of their Healthcare Careers. She cared for her father Eddie Sr. for years and she did the same for her mother until God called them home. Yvonne loved music and singing. She always wanted to sing professionally. She also loved TV shows about nature and a good hospital drama. Yvonne grew up in the church and sung in the choir at Mt. Elliot Street Church of God in Christ under the leadership of late Elder Cecil Boyd Sr. It was at Mt. Elliot Street C.O.G.I.C where she learned about faith and values. Yvonne later joined New Maclin Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor James Maclin Jr. Yvonne continued caring for family and friends until the Lord called her to rest on November 13, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter Tiffiny J Wesley; her sister Dianne Bailey; her brothers, Eddie Bailey Jr. (Roberta), Terry Bailey, and Kevin Bailey; a host of loving Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and Friends.
