Rev. Willie Lee Mack

In Loving Memory Of The Beginning... Willie Lee Mack was born on October 23, 1945 in Ashtabula, OH to the late Allen and Mary Jane Mack who preceded him in death. Willie was the oldest of eight boys. Willie was baptized at an early age at the Mount Zion Baptist Church. Willie Lee received his primary education with the Urbana, AR school system and assisted his family by working on his Grandfather farm. He began his career as a truck driver, a role he held for over twenty years. Despite his hard work, Willie always found time to enjoy his life. He was an outgoing person, he cherished spending time with his family. Some of his hobbies included tending to his horses, cooking, dancing, playing dominoes and card games. From his first union three daughters were born, Aven, Christal, and Roxanna Mack. Willie was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Thelma Mack on June 3, 1974, who preceded him in death. From this union, their family was extended with the birth of their only son, William Mack. He accepted his calling into the ministry at Spring Hill Baptist under the leadership of the late Reverend C.L Traylor in 1975. Willie later joined Center Branch Baptist Church in Conway, Louisiana where he became Pastor. While in Louisiana, Willie made County Line Baptist Church his church home under Pastor Michael Singleton. Upon returning to Detroit, he remained a dedicated member of Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Smith Sr. Willie fought an incredible fight up until August 28, 2024 when God called him home. He is remembered by his four children: Aven Mack, Christal Mack, Roxanna Mack, and William Mack. He leaves behind seven Grandchildren; Kevin, Chris, Anthony (Zene), Justin, D`Juan, Jalyn, and Aaron; six great Grandchildren; brothers Edward Mack (Jonetta) and Carl Parker. His brothers who preceded him in death are George Mack, Elijah Boyd, William Boyd, Eddie Parker, and Darrin Parker. He also leaves behind a Mother in Law Francis Traylor-Charles of Marion, Louisiana, sister in laws Vickie (Gregory) Hill of Bernice, Louisiana, Jessie Elayne (Tony) Miller of Strong, Arkansas, and Cassandra Kendrix of Marion, Louisiana, brother in laws Kenny Charles of Eldorado, AR, and Ricky Charles of Strong, LA who preceded him in death; as well as a host of cousins,nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Willie was immensely loved by his family and friends and will be truly missed.
