Mr. Tyron Pierre Scott

In Loving Memory Of: Tyron Pierre Scott, Ty for short, was born on September 11, 1972, to the union of Carl and Barbara Scott in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When Ty was a very young child, his parents moved back to Virginia. Ty is the fifth of seven children, fondly referred to as the “middle son”. Ty grew up in Big Island, Virginia, spending much of his childhood and teenage years working alongside his 6 siblings on their Grandfather’s (Daddy-o) farm. All the hard work and long hours tending to the animals and gardens cultivated his strong bond with Daddy-O, whom he loved and admired very much. The values of providing for his family through hard work and dedication undoubtedly were learned and cultivated through these experiences. He carried this work ethic with him throughout the rest of his life. Ty accepted Christ at a very young age at Sharon Baptist Church in Big Island, Virginia. He attended Jefferson Forest High School in Forest, Virginia. Early on, Ty discovered his passion for cooking, probably because he loved to eat! He received his formal training in cooking and food science at both BEC in Bedford, Virginia and Crocket Vocational School in Detroit, Michigan. Ty embarked on a professional cooking career at the young age of sixteen, working at the prestigious Peaks of Otter Restaurant and Lodge (VA). He worked his way up from Kitchen Porter to Line Cook by the age of seventeen. Ty would go on to lead other well-known restaurants as Head Chef in Detroit MI, Royal Oak, MI and Lynchburg, VA. Ty relocated to Detroit, Michigan with his mother, Barbara, and his siblings to pursue big city opportunities. Ty continued his cooking career at a well-known Coney Island in Detroit as Line Chef. This is where he met and fell in love with LaToya Newman (Toya). They would be married and unto their union were born three beautiful children, Tyiesha, Lexus, Tyron (TJ). His children were the absolute joy of his life. He was so grateful for the love of his family and his ability to be a provider for them. He took so much pride in being a family guy and hands on dad. Constantly boasting about how beautiful and smart all his children are and his admiration for the hustle in his wife Toya. He was so grateful to her for his children. When he wasn’t working, he loved to Barbeque and host family gatherings. Ty was a big hearted, kind and loyal son, brother, father and friend. There really wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for anyone. Just an all around kind and gentle soul with a smile that would light up the room.
