Mr. Ryan Donovan Dickson

In Loving Memory Of; Ryan Donovan Dickson, also affectionately known as “Ry-Ry”, “DocRoc”, “Ry”, “Little RyRy”, and “MJ,” was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 21, 1992. Ryan was the youngest son of Shawn and Barry Dickson. Early on, Ryan proved to be an easygoing and fun-loving child. His passion for video games was evident from the start, and he spent hours playing games like Tekken, Blitz, and Super Mario with his brothers. Most memorable was the way he bounced around in front of the TV, exclaiming his every move for the entire house to hear. He also had a vivid and playful imagination. Ryan used to make up creative games for him and his little sisters to play together and teach them his favorite songs, so he could have his own backup singers. Around the age of eight, Ryan found his love for football. He played little league football for the Canton Lions and continued the sport into his high school years playing for the Salem Rocks in Canton. Ryan graduated from Salem High School in 2010. Afterward, he attended and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of General Studies Degree. Ryan utilized his skills and talents in several different fields after completion of his schooling. Most notable were his positions at Dayton Freight as a loader and dispatch manager, and at Amazon, where he started as a seasonal driver, and promoted to, Address Validation Associate in November 2019. In February of 2020, he was promoted to Field Quality Assurance, where he relocated to the Lansing Area. Ryan had a phenomenal work ethic and succeeded in any position he had. When Ryan wasn’t working, he was doing the thing that gave him the most joy. Spending time with The Lord. Ryan joined Christian Life Center Church as a child with his family. As he got older, he developed his own intimate relationship with The Lord. In 2017, he married Krystal Dixon, and it was during this time he rededicated his faith. He boldly and feverishly sought the Lord with everything within him and drew exponentially closer to God. He organized two different bible studies, spent hours in private prayer and faithfully served in his Church as an usher. He wrote a book entitled “Forever Breaking Strongholds” which currently is in the process of being published, and he was working on several more in an effort to further spread his testimony and the Gospel. He was a light to all who met him, and God blessed him with an unforgettable smile and laugh that was infectious to anyone who encountered him. Ryan and Krystal’s romantic relationship ended in 2018, but their friendship continued to flourish through their mutual love for God. Over time, his love for football also grew. His father instilled an undying loyalty for the Detroit Lions in his entire family, and Ryan was the most dedicated. He spent hours analyzing NFL Films, and attended countless games. Even though he enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Ford Field, there was nothing like watching the game from the comfort of his own couch with one of his momma’s “famous sandwiches.” He hosted annual draft parties for his family, and organized fantasy football leagues for his friends. His knowledge and love of the game was extensive, and it was a privilege to get to watch them with him. His love of video games also prevailed through the years, and he spent hours playing Xbox with his family and friends. Anyone who has ever played with him would describe him as one of the most passionate and energetic players of all time, especially when it came to Call of Duty. He spent many nights playing with his siblings and friends and was undoubtedly the best. He also had no shame in calling out other players for their lack of skill, and always kept the game entertaining. It was always a pleasure to play with him, and it was a significant way he bonded with his brothers and sisters. Aside from football and video games, Ryan truly just loved spending time with his family. Family game night was a regular occasion in the Dickson Household. Ryan loved to brag about his ability to beat anyone at anything, from Spades to Phase 10. His competitive spirit was a hallmark of every game session. He found joy out of the little things in life and his presence will forever be missed. He loved his momma’s cooking and had no shame in being called “momma’s baby boy”. He loved quoting SpongeBob and countless other shows with his sisters. With his brother Royce, he enjoyed getting their regular car washes and discussing muscle cars. Most of all, he loved his Heavenly Father and was determined to share his anointing and gifts with everyone for the purpose of saving souls.
