Ms. Rosie Lee Pride

In Loving Memory Of Rosie Lee Davison Daughter of the late Eddie Davison and Willie Mae Davison was born on March 2, 1940 in Sardis, MS. She was the fourth born child of fourteen children. Her parents, six brothers Eddie Davison Jr., Willie Davison, Jimmie Davison, Fred Davison, Harry Davison and Tommy Davison; two sisters Stella Mae Jones and Margaret Morgan; two sons Winfred Pride and Glen Pride; two grandchildren Warren Pride Jr., Taylor Morris and daughter-in-law Emma Pride preceded her in death. She attended Walden Chapel School in Sardis, MS. At an early age Rosie accepted Jesus Christ at McIvor Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sardis, MS. She was united in holy matrimony in 1957 and in this marriage four beautiful children were born, Winfred Pride, Warren Pride, Brenda Pride and Glen Pride. In 1964, Rosie relocated to Detroit, MI with her aunt Hattie Lee Tucker who has also preceded her in death. She was employed at Friendship Window Company before she became employed at Ford Motor Company and was there for 34 years until she retired in 1998. She served the Lord for many years as a church mother and was a faithful member at Bible Way Fellowship under the leadership of Pastor Peter King. Rosie was loved by so many. She was the rock of the family and was often called on for prayer from everybody. "She was a prayer warrior." Every morning at 5am she will be up praying and breakfast will already be done she was an amazing cook and made sure dinner was prepared every holiday for her family. She was famous for her fried ribs, dressing, chicken and dumplings, greens, hot water cornbread and many, many more dishes and not to mention she baked the best cakes ever. She was the "Cake Lady." She enjoyed decorating and made beautiful floral arrangements. She was a perfectionist. She will most definately be remembered for her prayers, her encouragement, her love for others, her cleanliness and her style. Everyone loved her. On Thursday, June 27, 2024, Rosie went home to Glory. God called her home freeing her from all the pain and suffering. She leaves to cherish her son Warren Pride and her daughter Brenda (Pride) Johnson; two daughters-in-law Cynthia Pride and Claudia Pride; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters Barbara Armstrong of Sardis, MS and Willie Mae "Bitsy" (Willie J) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers Larry (Gladys) Davison of Sardis, MS, Marvin (Karen) Davision of Detroit, MI and Lamar (Pamela) Davison of Sardis, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
