Mr. Robert Lee Carter Sr.

In Loving Memory Of Robert Lee Carter Sr. was born on June 14, 1944 to Lewis and Ardenia Carter in Columbus, GA and he departed February 18, 2024 in Detroit, MI. Robert was a Beloved Father, a Devoted Husband, a Loving Brother, a Cherished Grandfather, a Wonderful Great Grandfather, a Great Uncle and friend to many. Robert grew up in Columbus, GA with his parents and 10 siblings.. He attended the Columbus Public school system. He was a kind, fun, loving and giving person even as a kid. He loved telling jokes laughing, playing around and enjoying life with his family. So he carried that with him in his adult life as well. Robert moved to Detroit, MI in 1967. Through the years he developed his love for working on cars. He enjoyed listening to and singing his music. (Family Reunion) and we all know he loved fishing . He would stay out fishing on his boat or on land for days at a time. I’m sure if you knew him well, he would manage to fit in any conversation about fishing. He also loved being around people and giving whatever he could. But the Love for his family was what gave him the most pleasure. He worked at GM for many years and decided he wanted to travel so he became a truck driver. He worked for Medar Trucking for 10 years and retired from Apex Trucking Inc. He loved his job and took pride in what he did. Everywhere he went he made many friends. Everyone loved him. And he Loved everybody. He always talked like everyone was his good friend, even if he only knew them for a short time. That’s the kind of person he was. He would give his last to everyone and everything (St. Jude, Kids Autism, Dogs, Cats, Lions etc.) If he had $5 they were going to get $3 of that. Selfless is what he was. He loved to give and always believe he would become Rich. Which he was Rich in Love. He had the biggest heart. Robert Lee Carter was proceeded in death by his parents Lewis and Ardenia Carter, his wife Janet Carter, his siblings William Carter, Eddie Carter, Lewis Carter Jr., Ardenia Carter Ruth, Minnie Carter Robinson, Jeff Carter, and Virgil Carter. He is survived by his children Robert Carter Jr., Sabrina Bush, Felicia (John) Cansler, Rachel (Mario) Clark, Joseph (Shayla) Carter, Tony and LaTonya Minetee. His Grandchildren, Reco, Adrian, Robert, Robin, Romel, Shanna, Joe, Jacory, Jontell, Shamoray, Javon, Jalin, Janika, Dionte, Joseph the 2nd, Josiah, Nolita and Lori. His siblings Thelma Carter Phillips, Tom (Lawanda) Carter, Evelyn (Ronald) Wright. 32 great-grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews. We mourn the loss of this Remarkable person who will be greatly missed. But we also Celebrate the Life we all shared with him. Rest well in Paradise. We will carry on and cherish your memory always.
