Ms. Regina Scott- Davis

In Loving Memory Of Regina Scott was born February 26, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Sammie and Ruby (Nettles) Scott (both deceased). She was the third of four children: Blanchett who preceded her in death, George, and Myrina. Regina accepted Christ at the age of six and was baptized at New Calvary Baptist Church where she remained a member her entire life. As a youth, Regina was active in the church both singing in the youth choir and participating in the Youth in Action group. As an adult, she participated on the Altar Circle and the Women's Day Committee. Regina was smart and excelled in school. She graduated from Pershing High School on the city's northeast side in 1971. She then went on to attend Michigan State University in East Lansing, Ml. While at MSU, Regina was initiated into the sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated - Epsilon Epsilon Chapter. While attending MSU, Regina met Norman Davis. The two married in December of 1972. To this union was born a son, Samuel Wesley Davis. Regina used her excellent administrative assistant skills to support the Detroit Public Schools and other companies in need of a keen, critical eye. Regina became well-known for her vibrant personality and willingness to work with people from all walks of life. In the spring of 1981 , Regina heeded the call to serve her country in the Air Force branch of the Armed Forces. Following basic military training, Regina's rank was that of an Airman first class. She worked as a Medical Administrative Specialist and an Airlift/Bombardment Aircraft Maintenance Specialist and she received an honorable discharge. While Regina struggled with numerous health issues over the years, she did not let them get her down. She lived by her favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13: "l can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." She could often be seen cheerfully and speedily navigating her trusty motorized chair through the halls of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Detroit. Regina NEVER met a stranger. Once she sized you up, you had a friend. Her bright smile, quick wit, and high intellect made her a VA favorite. Regina also loved to watch crime dramas, her favorite being reruns of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. She also loved to talk on the phone with friends and spend time with her neighbors. But, most of all, she cherished every opportunity to be with her sister Myrina, and looked forward to visits with her brother George. The three often broke bread while engaging in uplifting conversations. In her later years, Regina grew even more serious about her christian journey. In addition to reading her Our Daily Bread devotional, Regina was described as Ms. Sunshine for her cheerfulness on her church's daily 6:00 am prayer call. She consistently participated in the online Sunday School class with insightful observations, reflections, and questions. Regina loved attending Sunday worship services and was there whenever her health and the weather permitted. There will forever be a void in the far right aisle of the church where she waved, clapped, and praised God for His faithfulness. In the early morning of January 10th in her apartment, Regina went home to be with her Lord, now free of all the pain, struggles, diagnoses, and numerous doctors appointments. Regina leaves to celebrate her memory a son Samuel, grandchildren Samara, Asia, Sierra, Alex, Jaden, and Nathaniel, a great granddaughter Kamryn, a brother and sisters George (Bridget), Myrina (Charles), Cora, and Anna Blanche, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, a devoted caregiver Gennitha, her sorority sisters, church family, fellow Veterans, and many wonderful friends.
