Mr. Percy Cleveland Taylor

In Loving Memory Of Percy C. Taylor was born May 7,1933 to the late Pernell Taylor and Jenniese Hargrow. He was the second oldest of seven children: three preceded him in death (Everett Sr, Robert Earl and Mattie Robinson). Early in his life in Panola, Alabama, Percy joined the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where he accepted Christ and was baptized. He met the love of his life Mary Sue McGhee whom he married. They journeyed together through 67 years as husband and wife and God blessed their marriage with three children: Michael, Timothy, and Rhonda. He was a gentle loving soul, a wonderful Husband and Father. He made a great impression on everyone he met because he was the epitome of cool! Percy had a green thumb, and it has been said that he could grow anything. However, his green thumb was not restricted to plants, but it was extended to his family as he used his keen wisdom to facilitate their growth. Some of his wisdom lessons were lessons on honor and responsibility. He taught his family about honor by serving dutifully as a Private First Class in the United States Army for three years and receiving an Honorable Discharge for a job well done. He taught lessons on responsibility by working for 37 years for Aramark, a division of Chrysler, and never missing a day of work. Percy’s lessons earned a special place for him in the hearts of his family and friends. On July 9, 2024, Percy (affectionately known as “Lil Buddy”) was called from labor to reward. His memory will ever be cherished by dedicated his wife: Mary Sue Taylor; his three loving children: Michael Taylor (Maudine), Timothy Taylor (Angela), Rhonda Stewart (Derrick); his four grandchildren: Erica Bland, Brandy Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, and Nikki Taylor and three great grandchildren. Additionally, he will be missed by his three sisters: Orange L. Jones of Cleveland, OH., Rose V. Houston of Chicago, IL. and Bertha Taylor of Birmingham, AL., three sisters-in-law Ann Currie (Robert), Ruthie Hurt, Gwendolyn Holston, as well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and other Relatives and Friends. A few very special friends will miss the fellowship they shared with him: Jake and Willie Mae Boyd, George Washington, and Willie Jones Sr.
