Mrs. Patricia Ann Hogan

In Loving Memory Of Patricia Ann Hogan: Loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to many. Patricia Hogan affectionately known as "Trish" or "Pat" was born March 16, 1955 in Detroit Michigan to the union of the late George Jacobs Sr. and Cletus Jacobs of Lumberton, North Carolina. Patricia was the second eldest of seven children and the firstborn daughter. Her younger brother Gilbert Jacobs preceded her in death. As a child and into her teenage years, Patricia enjoyed roller skating, horseback riding, swimming, playing the piano, and cooking. Patricia also had a very good way with words coupled with a special gift for writing. In addition to these things, the one thing that she took pride in most was being a big sister and taking care of all of her younger siblings. Patricia graduated from Henry Ford High School in 1973 and after high school she pursued a career in administrative work. She entered the workforce beginning a career at Empire of America bank in Birmingham, Michigan as an executive secretary. Patricia held various jobs in both the insurance and real estate industries for many years. She also worked as a secretary for her father's business; George Jacobs Home Modernization during the 90s. Patricia married her longtime sweetheart Gerald K. Hogan Sr. in 1975, whom preceded her in death. From this matrimony, one son Gerald Keith Hogan Jr. was born. Patricia and her late husband Gerald eventually separated and Patricia met another love by the name of Marvin Thomas who also preceded her in death. Patricia was blessed with motherhood again and in 1991 a son by the name of Mario Demetri Thomas was born. Anyone who knows Patricia, knows that her two sons were her pride and joy and she felt being a mother was the highest honor of all. Patricia's next insurmountable joys came in 1997 and 2002 when she became a grandmother to Nia Amber Hogan and Gerald Keith Hogan III. She was so very ecstatic to become a grandmother and told everyone she encountered how blessed and honored she was. Nia Amber Hogan, her first and only granddaughter was born and after seeing her, she immediately nicknamed her "Georgia Peach." A second gift arrived five years later and her first and only grandson Gerald Keith Hogan III, whom she proudly nicknamed "Lil G," made his grand entrance into the world. Proud "Grandma Trish" now had two beautiful grandbabies to boast upon and proudly tell the world about. Patricia will be remembered most as the one person who could add light to any situation. She was a jokester at heart and always had a compliment to pay forward. She was a great judgement- free listener, and anyone could spend hours on end talking with her, as she was full of much wisdom. Patricia adorned a beautiful big heart accompanied by a great spirit. She also loved her family and God and always knew it was HE whom sustained her at all times. After a long battle of failing health, with family alongside her, Patricia received her wings and made a final transition from this life to eternal glory on June 22, 2018.
