Mrs. Pamela Jean Sims

Celebrating The Life of Pamela Jean Sims: Pamela was born on September 30, 1952 to the union of George Henry Bolden, Sr. and Rose Mae Bolden. Both parents, sister Rhonda Joyce Bolden and granddaughter Brandi Mitchell all preceded her in death. After graduating Mackenzie High School, Pam attended and graduated from Shaw College where she played basketball and got the nickname "HOLLYWOOD." She attended Henry Ford Community College (Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies with Honors); Madonna University (Bachelor of Science Degree with High Honors, Master of Science in Business Administration Degree with the Leadership Studies in Criminal Justice). Pam was certified as a CPR Instructor, Sexual Harassment Counselor, De-Escalation Trainer, Crisis Intervention and In-Service Instructor. She provided training for the Police Authority, Employees, Medical staff and Interns for all DMC properties. She started her career in Law Enforcement in 1972 at the 12th Precinct. She has been employed by the Detroit Police Department, Michigan State Troopers, Bonded Security Company, Michigan Department of Corrections, Adult Foster Care, Human Resource Developer (MDOC), and The Police Authority Team Leader for DMC Sinai Grace Hospital. Pam was a member of Henry Ford Community College Alumni Assoc., Madonna University Alumni, Femma National Incident Management Assoc., and Command Assoc., Kappa Gamma Pi Honor Society. She received awards from the National Institute of Corrections Professional Trainer and Chiefs Unit Citation. Pam was also a member of Naomi Queen of the East Chap #61, working under Greater Queen Ester Grand Chap. She served as Worthy Matron for several years. Later she joined Sarai-New Harmony Chap #178. She was also a member of the following Auxiliaries Celestial Amaranth Court #1, Queen of Roses Court #1 Heroines of Jericho, Ester Council Lady Knights of Templar, Crescent Queen Court #1 Daughters of Sphinx (won Daughter of the year at the National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia), and a member Sheba Palace Royal Ladies. Pam married Bobby Green Sims on June 26, 1994. This union blended together five children and ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She enjoyed road trips with her husband, spending time with her family, and best friend Deborah Edwards of 35 years. She enjoyed basketball, football, baseball, dancing, singing, going to the casino. Pam was a proud mother and Grandmother. She was baptized in 2000 with her daughter and grandchildren.
