Mr. Nicholas Jernigan

In Loving Memory Of Nicholas Herbert Jernigan was born on March 27, 1980, in Detroit, MI, to Herbert (late) and Geraldine Jernigan. Growing up, Nick had a life rich in love, laughter, and shared moments with family and friends. His upbringing in the country fostered his love for the outdoors and his adventurous spirit, evident in his fondness for activities like riding dirt bikes and exploring the woods with his friends. He shared a special bond with his father, spending countless hours working on cars, tackling household projects, and even driving commercial trucks together. This bond likely shaped Nicholas into the dependable and hardworking individual he became. After graduating from Belleville High School, Nick pursued a career in the automotive industry, eventually finding fulfillment in his role at the General Motors battery plant in Brownstown, MI. Nick's favorite pastimes included working on cars and spending quality time with his children. He was a loving husband to Kiana Jernigan and a devoted father to Raymond Gordon (step-son), Nicholas Jr., Nickael, Nakayla, Neko, Nova, and the twins Navon and Kavon. Nick was preceded in death by his father Herbert Jernigan and his brother Rodderick Jernigan. In addition to his immediate family, Nick leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his dear mother Geraldine, brother Demetrius, sisters Felicia (along with Andrew and Ashley) and LaTonya (along with Brandon, Bryce and Blair), as well as special sister-cousin LaTonia Watson (along with Talecia, Brianna, Travis and Bryya), and sister-friend Jennifer Moon (along with James). He is also remembered fondly by a host of family members including aunts, uncles, cousins and great-nieces and nephews. Nicholas was not just a beloved family member but also a cherished friend, known for his reliability and warmth. He had a host of loyal friendships but had a special place in his heart for the Sump Town Finest/ Swampboyz, a group of friends bonded together in their early years growing up in Sumpter, MI. Nick will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family will be forever cherished in our hearts.
