Mr. Michael Keith Ingram

Michael Keith Ingram was born on November 8, 1964, to Beverly Richey and Gilbert Ingram, with the privilege of having a bonus dad, Willie James Richey, all of whom preceded him in death. Michael’s family affectionately called him by his middle name, Keith. However, he was known by many names that reflected the love and bond he shared with others. These names included Big Brother Almighty, Mikey Mike, Gucci, Gucci Man, and Big Mike. He often addressed others as Big Money and Big Time. Michael’s journey started on Charest Street in Detroit, Michigan, where he was raised by his devoted grandparents, Willie and Alma Lyons. Raised in a religious family, Michael committed his life to the Lord at a young age and was baptized by his grandfather. His spiritual journey has been a constant companion throughout his life. He was a member of Oasis of Hope Christian Church. An intelligent and diligent student, Michael excelled academically. He graduated from Cass Technical High School (Second to None), a prestigious magnet school in Detroit, as a top student in his alumni class of 1982. After high school, Michael went on to attend Wayne State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Finance degree. While attending Wayne State University, Michael was initiated into the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. The first and oldest Black Greek Letter Fraternity. His line, The 11th Hour, crossed on March 30th, 1984. His (SANDS) are Charles Flippen II, Harry White, Herman Jackson, David Dye, Mark Denson (Omega Chapter), Gary Gregory, David Johnson, John Allen, Tom Yancy (Omega Chapter), and David Shelton. After graduating from college, Michael joined Gamma Lambda, Detroit Alumni Chapter. Throughout his professional life, Michael showcased a strong 35-year successful career in sales and marketing, ending his career at Rocket Mortgage as a mortgage banker/loan officer licensed in 20+ states after his untimely illness. Michael, deeply passionate about Black history, served as the family historian. He also engaged friends and colleagues in discussions about influential figures like Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King, Jr. An activist both politically and for his community, Michael was a member of the Grosse Pointe Democratic Club, where he still volunteered canvassing for the 2024 Presidential election, taking extra pride when the election coincided with his birthday. Michael’s involvement extended to past precinct delegate roles in Grosse Pointe Park and executive board membership of the NAACP Grosse Pointe/Harper Woods Chapter, where he spearheaded the development and implementation of a documentary project while raising funds for the Flint Water Crisis. Michael had a lifelong love for house music, jazz, and art. In his younger days, he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the arrival of quarterback Mahomes changed his allegiance to the die-hard Kansas City Chiefs. During the era of Ervin Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant (RIP), and LeBron James, he remained a loyal fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. Additionally, he held season tickets for the Detroit Pistons with his cousin, Anthony Collins. In his free time, Michael preferred watching sports on ESPN, staying updated with the latest news on MSNBC, and having movie marathons on Tubi. Michael's warm personality and sense of humor made him a beloved figure among family, friends, and fraternity brothers with whom he enjoyed spending time. Michael cherished family gatherings. He hosted holidays and cookouts at the scenic Grosse Pointe Windmill Park. He frequently led the charge during Friday night outings in Detroit among friends, including to the iconic Flood’s Bar & Grill. Michael Keith Ingram peacefully passed away on February 11, 2025, at 11:08 a.m., in hospice at Henry Ford St. John Hospital, after a long, hard-fought battle with brain cancer with his unwavering devoted wife by his side. Michael is survived and leaves behind his cherished wife Rondalyn; siblings Marcus Ingram (Sharita), Renee Richey, Kimberly Richey, Calvin Richey (Jeanne), Lanita Stewart, Pamela Ealy, Regina Ingram, and Deborah Knight; nieces and nephews Makaia Gatson(Demetrius Gatson), Dwayne Jr., DeJuan, Darion, DeVon Ingram, Dominique Brown, Clifton Croxton, Alexis Crawford, Nigel Romant, Kaylah Richey, Trey Richey, Lauren Richey, Gregory Ponders, Janea Ponders, Jasmine Stewart; a host of cousins and great-nieces/ great-nephews. Extended family by love: Carolyn, Rondalyn II, Ravyn, Donald, Chez, Calion, Lakeshia, Princess, grandchildren, and the Motor City Wolverines Football and Cheer Organization. Michael was a beloved grandson, son, nephew, uncle, brother, cousin, fraternity brother, and friend, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Michael’s lovable personality, the foundation of his positive outlook, was evident in every aspect of his life. His selfless love for others is a testament to his remarkable life, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
