Mr. Melvin Bryant Richardson

In Loving Memory of Big Rich, Big Melvin, Rich, Richard, Uncle Melvin, Granddaddy Richard, no matter the name called or heard there was instant excitement, a smile, maybe even a laugh. The reasons very, but there was no doubting his impression was ever lasting. Melvin Bryant Richardson was born on December 30, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan to the union of George W. and Beatrice Richardson. He was the second of six children. His parents George and Beatrice; one sister Beverly; three brothers, George Jr., Leonard, and Albert; one brother-in-law Alfred; one sister-in-law Carolyn; one son Calvin and one niece Carol preceded him in death. Melvin at an early age confessed Hope in Christ as his savior, under the pastorate of the late Bishop C.L Morton, Sr., at the Greater Mt. Zion Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. Melvin was educated in the Detroit Public School System. After high school, he attended Cosmetology school, which he graduated before joining the US Army. He served for 3 ½ years and was honorably discharged medically, due to a condition in which was incurred in the line of duty. Melvin lived his life unapologetically his way. He lived life to the fullest, and there was no denying that he Loved Family. Family gatherings were the best, he would cook/grill and be with friends and family. He was an artist, his drawings won him multiple awards. Most notably his first-place award for drawing Domino Sugar. Often seen smiling and cracking jokes, even in his last days flirting with, and making the nurses smile and laugh. He made his transition from this earthy life on November 19, 2024, at 5:52am. He leaves to cherish his memory one brother: Michael; four children: Debbie (Toney), Tanya (Derrick), Melvin, Jr., and Marc (Litricia); fourteen grandchildren: Letetia, Demarrio, Teena (Devyn), Tyra-Marie (Kyle), Tatiana (Aaron), Kia (James), Joedy, Marc, Makayla, Barry, Delana, D’Marco, Isiah, Kaleb; eleven great-grandchildren: Jessiah, Shai, T’nia, Damarri, Tearie, Teyonnie, Tyla-Marie, Cason, Colton, Avery, Cartier, Alante; three nieces: Doreen, Beatrice, and Beth; two nephews: Alfred (Melitta), Albert, Jr. (Nakita); five great nieces: Meritta, Doyonne, Georgio, Beverly, Christina; five great-nephews: Johnathon, Richard III, Honda, Jaylen, and Joshua; one great-great-niece: Amari; a host of cousins and friends.
