Mrs. Lula Ann Jones

In Loving Memory Of Mrs. Lula Ann Battle Jones was born August 25, 1937, to the union of the late Reverend Christopher Columbus Battle Sr. and Mrs. Lula Clark Battle in Sledge Mississippi. Lula was the baby girl of the family she was adored and greatly loved. Lula confessed hope in Christ at an early age; She joined and was baptized at St. Jane MBC under the Pastoral of her father the Late Reverend Christopher Columbus Battle Sr. In 1954 the family moved to Mattson Mississippi on a little farm and plantation called “Green Estate”, where the farm life began. There Lula worked diligently, still continuing her education, and relationship with God the Father. Lula later met and married the love of her life her late husband Mr. Robert Jones Sr. Within their marriage seven handsome young men came along. She dedicated her life being a wonderful wife and mother. Lula joined Holly Grove MBC under the Pastoral care of the Late C.L. Green, where she remained until she decided to leave Mississippi, relocating to Detroit Michigan to be with her sister Josephine Battle Moorlet and family. No matter where she was Jesus Christ was the center of her life, upon moving to Detroit Michigan she joined Silver Star MBC under the pastoral care of the Late Pastor V.J. Vasser, after the passing of the Late Pastor V.J Vasser Mrs Lula remained a very faithful member under the Pastoral of Pastor Leroy Hurst the third. Lula was faithful until her health wasn’t permitting her to attend church in person, then Ministry of Silver Star MBC took the services to her home she highly enjoyed every visit. One thing we all know Lula SHO-NUFF loved God! Lula shared her life with so many. Everyone that had the opportunity to meet Mrs Jones was truly blessed in knowing her. Ms. Jones left her mark on us all. Mrs. Lula Ann Battle Jones made her transition December 9, 2024 and she leaves to cherish her precious memories five sons, Robert (Toni) Jones Jr., Homer (Karen) Jones, Jimmie (Kimberly) Jones all of Detroit Michigan, Roosevelt (Dartheia) Jones of Milwaukee Wisconsin, James (Tameka) Jones of Dallas Texas. Mrs Lula Ann Battle Jones was preceded in death by her late husband Mr. Robert Jones Sr. Their two sons Jerry Bernard Battle, and Columbus Jones. Her parents the late Reverend Christopher Columbus Battle Sr. Mrs. Lula Clark Battle, Nine siblings Jimmie Battle, Tommie Battle, Reverend Christopher Columbus Battle Jr., Stonewall Jackson Battle, Jesse Battle, Amelia Battle, Sallie Mae Battle Jones, Ella Mae Battle Burts, and Josephine Battle Moorlet. Lula has one living brother-in-law Mr. Ben Moorlet Sr. Two living sisters-in-law Mrs. Talola Battle of St. Louis Missouri, and Mrs Adrienne Battle of St. Louis Missouri. Twenty-three grandchildren, Anthony Clark, Martez Jones, Conswala Powell, Desiree Jordan, Tonya Battle, Ryan Battle, Jerry Battle all of Detroit Michigan. Jermaine Williams, Shavone Redmond, Monissa Redmond, Mark E. Jones, Columbus Jones Jr. all of Youngstown Ohio, Homer Jones Jr. of Memphis Tennessee, Kelly Williams of Chicago Illinois, Brittney Battle, Kaitlyn Jones, Brianna Jones, Kaleb Jones, all of Dallas Texas, Mario Battle, Sherry Blissett, Marius Antoine Battle, Roosevelt Battle Jr. all of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Duane Jasper of Lansing Michigan. A host of great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
