Mr. Lloyd Garland Jones

In Loving Memory Of Lloyd Garland Jones was born on February 5, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Roosevelt and Quinceola Jones who preceded him in passing. He grew up in a large family with 4 sisters (Joyce, Lois, Beverly and Anita) and 2 brothers (Maurice and Gregory). Lloyd was educated in the Detroit Public School System. He graduated from Mumford High School in 1970. Lloyd was set up on a date with Valerie Jackson by her father Elbert Jackson. They hit it off. They married and had daughters Shevon and Kellie. Lloyd and Valerie were together for nearly 50 years. They shared a wonderful life together until his passing. Lloyd and Valerie took bus trips to the casino and Cedar Point. To the surprise of everyone Lloyd accompanied the family on a cruise to the Bahamas for Valerie’s 60th birthday. Lloyd and Valerie would watch marathons of Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. Most of the time the TV watched him. Lloyd was great with his hands. He could fix anything. He could fix cars, do home improvements and was a grill master. Lloyd was a family man. He lived for his family. His pride and joy were his daughters and grandchildren. They affectionately called him Day Day. He often joked with his grandchildren. He had them convinced his name was Henry, the horse statue on Belle Isle would come to life at night and he was raised eating bullets and dynamite. Family was of the utmost importance. He certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. Lloyd had a special relationship with his younger brother Gregory who moved from Hawaii to be closer to him. He also had a special bond with nephews Ryan Jones, Marc Green and Brian Rhodes. Lloyd had a brief illness and passed away peacefully at Henry Ford Hospital. In addition to his loving wife Valerie, he is mourned and survived by daughters Shevon and Kellie Jackson. He was preceded in passing by sisters Joyce Green, Lois Rhodes, Beverly Thomas and brother Maurice Jones. He is survived by his brother Gregory (Kelly) Jones, sister Anita Bradley of Georgia, brother-in-law Rodney Pickett, sisters-in-law Beverly Jackson, Debra Jackson and Audrey Jackson-Williams of Michigan, grandchildren Stacey Fields Jr., Roderick Mann, Jr., Kyla Mann and Taylor Jackson, great-grandchildren Ryan Lewis, Gabrielle Fields-Devereaux and Jayce Fields-Devereaux, best friend Leodis (Tony) Elam, a host of nieces, nephews, family, extended family and friends.
