Going Home Celebration For Kimbelry Ann Dunwoody-Dawson: As a daughter of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Kimberly Ann Dunwoody-Dawson would depart this earthly realm to be with her heavenly Father on March 27, 2017. While here she served as a mother to all. Her presence will truly be missed. Kimberly, affectionately known as Kim, was born on July 28,1967 in Highland Park, Michigan to Willie and the late Irma Dunwoody. Kim was raised in Detroit, Michigan and educated within the Detroit Public School system. As a most thriving and stellar student, she graduated from Mumford High School with honors. Thereafter, she attended Lewis College of Business to pursue courses in Business Administration. Kim was a very prominent business student and used the skills gained in various clerical positions held during her lifetime. Later on, Kim would hold a position as a union representative at Thorn Apple Valley. She was known as the "go to person" in getting things accomplished and problem solving. After being on the job for several years she grew ill. This allowed her to focus on her family as a homemaker. Kim was an amazing person with a heart of gold. In being a nurturing and inviting individual, Kim exemplified love by opening up her home to anybody that needed a place to stay. She never hesitated to feed, shelter, or clothe those in need. Every opportunity that arose allowed her to demonstrate her gift of helps. As a mother to all, she encouraged the weak and brokenhearted to press forward and never give up. As the life of the party, she didn't allow her disability to stop her. She continued to stay enthused to serve people and her God. As silly as she was, one could always depend on her infamous Black History month voice mail for a great laugh! Kim is known for reading books and completing crossword puzzles. She loved to laugh, dance, and party until the last record was played. Growing up, parents Willie and Irma Dunwoody would raise Kimberly on the Baptist pews of Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Early on, Kimberly gave her life to the Lord and was a baptized born again believer of Jesus Christ. She often spoke of her days as a young girl singing in the choir, serving as the president of the usher board, and getting home very late from a long day of worship services. Kim genuinely loved fellowshipping among God's people. Her last pastor was Reverend Johnny Lowe of The Historic Motor City Baptist Church.
