In Loving Memory Of: Joseph Hogan's life began on Thursday, August 20, 1936, in Roe, Arkansas. He went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2021. He was one of 11 siblings born to the late Ferrell and Lillie Hogan. In 1953, he moved to Detroit, Michigan and attend Emmanuel Catholic High School. Joe started working in a glove factory and soon after he started working at Sears & Roebuck Co. During his employment with Sears, he began to work for General Motors and American Axle for 30 years, until his retirement. It was during his employment with Sears, Joe met and fell in love with Mary E. Myers. The two were joined in holy matrimony for 48 years. In his retirement, to stay healthy and active he would rise early and walk around the track at Mumford High School. He also began to work at a local convenience store. Joe's life should be celebrated and remembered as one filled with kindness, gentleness, and the love for his family and friends. He enjoyed bowling, walking, and spending time with his family. He loved traveling back to Arkansas, with his brother Benjamin and niece Patricia. He also enjoyed family trips and events with his wife Mary, and "in-laws." He would get together every weekend, with his siblings to, talk, eat, and play cards. In his later years he adored "facetime" with his grandkids. To know Joe, was to know a man who was giving, happy, joking and to always have a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by parents, Ferrell, and Lillie Hogan; two sisters, Wilda Wofford, and Mildred Hogan; five brothers, Earnest, Benjamin, Ferrell, Donald, and Rufus; nephew, DeAngelo Hogan; niece, Mildred Charletta Varner, and sister-in-law, Roselene Charlene Myers Darty. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Hogan; sons, Royce Shye and Charles Dywayne Hogan; daughter, Felicia.
