Mr. Jawhan Elad Jones

In Loving Memory Of; Jawhan Elad Jones was born on February 1, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan to Marvis Baldwin and Sandra McCree-Baldwin. As a young kid he was very active and sometimes accident prone. He loved watching karate movies and doing back flips, he broke his arm no less than five times but that still didn’t stop him from thinking he was the invincible Bruce Lee. At the age of six while playing with his ball he was involved in a near fatal car accident. Jawhan had a fighting spirit and through dedication and hard work he astonished the doctor by fully recovering in less time than expected. As a teenager he was a gamer before gaming was a thing. He would stay out late at the neighborhood store and local arcade playing his favorite game, Street Fighter. Jawhan would clear the house beating everyone that came into his path.He would enter contest, winning prizes and money for his street fighting skills. Jawhan was educated through the Detroit Public School system.He graduated from Mackenzie High School and later attended Henry Ford Community College, where he studied Culinary Arts. Jawhan gained his love of cooking from his dad Marvis aka “Starving Marvin”. His dad taught him his way around the kitchen. Jawhan loved cooking and whipped out new creations that would make you want to “slap yo momma”. His love of cooking would lead to one of his greatest encounters. At the young age of 16, his first job at IHOP was working for R&B singer, Anita Baker. She recognized his talents, as his skill grew, she asked him to be the regional manager for various locations throughout the IHOP system, earning him the name of “Chef Boyardee”. During Jawhan's time with the IHOP organization he became fluent in Spanish and traveled from Michigan to California, to Indiana and finally settling in Plainview, Texas. Jawhan was a jack of all trades, he landed a job at Walmart Distribution, where he was praised as a stellar employee by his bosses and co-workers. He never gave up his love of cooking and continued to shower his family and friends with good meals. Aside from his wonderful cooking, what’ll be missed most about Jawhan is his infectious laugh and beautiful smile that would light up a room. In 2018, Jawhan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized at T. D. Jakes Potter’s House under the anointing of Minister Rick Mendina, in Plainview, Texas. This comes as no surprise, he was always deeply rooted in the word of the Lord through the teaching of his mom, Sandra.
