Ms. Jaletta Davis

Celebrating The Life Of Jaletta Davis: as born to the union of Corine and Eddie Hudgens. Jaletta received her early education in the Detroit School System, where she also attended Northeastern High School. She continued to further her education through life experiences. At Northeastern High, Jaletta with her bright and big personality, met her high school sweetheart Cornelius Davis, Jr., where he was captivated and drawn to her magnetic personality. From their union in marriage, they gave birth to beautiful children Trade Stevens and Karisa Davis. Jaletta with family resided in Germany for close to seven years and during this time she traveled to places like France, Amsterdam, the West Indies and more. Because of her travels, she became worldly and aware. Fun, the party queen, the party would not start until “The Bird” arrived, her attendance was mandatory. Her family and friends knew she could bring life to a party. Her laughter infectious, her heart good, and forgiving, no matter how you felt about her, you knew one thing; she could make you laugh and laugh to tears. In the past two years, Jaletta had been on a path of self-empowerment. She started to take control of her life and fighting for her independence in ways she had never done before. She longed to have a better relationship with her children and was very proud of the adults they became. She always knew her children would become successful. Her plan for the past year was to move to Florida to live with her daughter Karisa. She was set and ready to fly to Florida for a better and happier life. Her life was cut short but lived fully on her terms and during the last two years her heart opened more. Toward the end of her life, she began to see things clearly; it was as if she was seeing for the first time. “Jaybird” was growing into Jaletta while studying to improve her reading abilities. She read verses from the Bible her favorite, Psalm 23 King James Version: He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of LORD forever.
