Bishop Harvey Beavers Jr.

Harvey Beavers Jr. was born a twin on June 6, 1958 in Monroe, Michigan the third child born to the late Harvey Beavers Sr. and Essie B. Alford. He was employed by the State of Michigan, where he worked for 42 years retiring as a Domestic Supervisor in April 2018. Although he retired from the State of Michigan, he never retired from serving the God of Israel and God’s people. At a young age he formed a lasting friendship with the Lathan family who often took him back and forth to church services. He became a member of The Spiritual Israel Church and Its Army under the pastorship and mentorship of the late Bishop Allen Cox Jr. He was called to the ministry at the age of 12, developing through the ranks to become Pastor of the Ypsilanti temple in 2004, a Bishop in 2011, Assistant Overseer in 2018, and the Overseer of the Spiritual Israel Church And Its Army in June 2022. Bishop Beavers was joined in matrimony to Sister Sharon Davis-Beavers in October 2016. Together, they continued serving the God of Israel and traveling throughout Israel to various assemblies, annual days and special events. He served as the District Elder and District Bishop to the southern states, often driving the roads going to see about God’s people Israel. Throughout his life journey Harvey’s humor and quick wit allowed him to form many personal bonds with his family and friends, too many to name. Some of his favorite sayings “Goodness of life!” “What a mess!” I would have passed CLEAN out!” and “Outstanding!” and ending his prayers with “The Lord is My Shepherd, I lack NOTHING!” Bishop Beavers enjoyed traveling for the church and preaching the doctrine of Israel. He also enjoyed music, chess, and sports; he was an avid college football fan, “Go Blue!” He especially loved a big juicy steak with sauteed onions and mushrooms, saying that "the steak ain't no good if you need A1 sauce.” He had a passion for studying biblical literature, history and gaining knowledge of Egyptology that increased his self-awareness. Bishop Harvey Beavers Jr. departed this earthly plane on February 8, 2024, surrounded by his wife, children, cousin and spiritual son. He is preceded in death by his twin, parents Harvey and Essie Beavers, son Kellen Beavers, two sisters Betty Alford and Lorraine Beavers. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Sharon Davis-Beavers; daughter Kelly Duncan (Ricardo); two sons Harvey Beavers III (Antoinette); and Dequan Alford. Four sisters Peggy Foy, Lily Griffin, Mary Frazier and Ivy Young; three brothers, Fred Ansasi, Lonnie Beavers, David Beavers, and a special niece Tiana Beavers. 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, seven Godchildren and a host of natural and spiritual nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
