Mr. Harold Evan Darden

In Loving Memory of Harold Evans Darden, was born on April 8, 1962, in Detroit, MI. He was the sixth child of Nancy Pearl Darden and James Darden. As a child, Harold was rambunctious, mischievous, and inquisitive to say the least. From a young age, he developed a passion for cars that was evident to anyone who met him. Whether it was discussing the latest automotive innovations or spending time attending car shows and racing events, it showed. This passion evolved into a hobby of buying and flipping cars and he was one of the best at it. He attended McKenzie high school and in 1995, he landed a job as a delivery driver for the Detroit News. He approached his job with pride and dedication and was respected by his colleagues. Harold found freedom and joy behind the wheel of a semi-truck where, for almost 30 years, he traveled the open roads, transporting stories across the state and contributing to the community in his own unique way. All the while, making friendships along the way. Beyond his love for vehicles, Harold was known for his joking nature, infectious laughter and the ability to bring people together. On March 8, 2003, Harold married Tiara Lynn Williams. Their relationship spanned over 40 years and stood the test of time. Harold and Tia were blessed to share a 22 year marriage that was built on the foundation of love and enforced through the support of their blended families. He was a devoted husband and they shared countless memories and adventures. He loved his son Dairyus, and he spent many wee hours of the morning talking with his mother, sister, and brothers on the phone. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished each conversation and every moment spent with them. Harold departed this life on February 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, James Darden; his grandparents, Isiah Wynn (Katie) and Mary Wynn; his brother, Lavelle Darden; his uncle, Isiah Wynn Jr; his aunt, Cecilia Wynn, and his nephew, Larry “Peanut” Darden. Harold leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Tia Darden; his loving mother, Nancy Darden; his son, Dairyus Walker; his stepson Brandon Williams; three brothers, Larry, Eric (Naomi), Charles (Cher) and godson, CJ “Fat Daddy” Darden; two sisters, Michelle and Denores; a mother in law, Carole Ray, a sister/brother in law, Nikki (Ken), and brother in law, Ronnie. He will also be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Harold was a man of integrity, whose fun loving nature and warmth touched the lives of many. Though his departure leaves a void that can never be filled, we find comfort in his legacy of love, friendship, and a dedication that will continue to inspire those who knew him. Harold will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever be cherished. Rest in peace, “Harryo,” as you drive the highways of Heaven.
