Mr. Harold Lee Chisolm

Harold Lee Chisolm, affectionally known as Bubble was born to the late Arthur Jones (Pops) and Essie Mae Williams on October 10, 1931 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was raised by his Grandmother and his Mother who later met Mr. Deacon who Harold looked to as a father figure. Harold met and married his first wife Virginia Lee and they later moved to Detroit, MI. This union was blessed with four children Virginia (Pete), Harold Jr., Theresa, and Betty Jean. After Virginia’s passing Harold later married Betty Allen. This union was blessed with two children Del and Marlon, and he also raised two of her children as his own Eric and Michelle. Harold was a firm believer in Christ and a faithful member at True Love Baptist Church until he was physically unable to attend. A life well lived and beloved by many, Harold was truly a loving and dedicated husband and father who was also loyal to his family and friends. Harold had an extremely big heart and was always thinking of others especially when he stepped in and raised his brother Charles’ children and he was consistently and endlessly helping others whenever a need arose. He loved to barbecue for holidays and spend time with his family. He also enjoyed going to baseball games, listening to the blues, and hitting the road traveling to visit his family and friends in the south. Harold was a very proud former employee of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI for 48 years getting credit for 51 years retiring in 1991. He never missed a day of work unless it was a funeral (he went to funerals like he was going to a cabaret dressed to a T). Harold was dedicated to his job and being a faithful provider to his family. Harold is survived by his children Theresa Redding, Harold Chisolm Jr, Darel Allen, and Marlon (Nekiya) Allen. His grandchildren Antonio Chisolm, Darenda Chisolm, Sharenda Redding, Releicia Venton, Belinda Chisolm, Ashley Kenny, Kiana Allen, Darius Allen, Darel Allen Jr., Mylaysha Garibay, Marlon Allen Jr., and Deshauna Allen, dozens of great grandchildren as well as dozens of great great grandchildren, his sisters Doris Bradley and Sarah Cawthon, many nieces and nephews included those he raised as his own, Otis, Othur, Diane, Linda, Niecy, Angie, Debra, Brenda, and Charles Jr., with a special mention of his great niece Angela Kimble who cared for him the last 3 years of his life at her adult care home Red Maple Place, and a host of many more cousins, family, and friends. Preceding him in death is his parents Arthur Jones and Essie Mae Williams, his wife Betty Chisolm, his sister Evelyn Russel, his brothers Charles Chisolm, and Eddie (Buster) Chisolm, three daughters, Virginia Chisolm, Betty Jean Venton, Michelle Allen, his son Eric Allen, and his grandsons Robert Redding and Keith Chisolm.
