Mrs. Gladys Williams

In Loving Memory Of; Gladys Mae Williams was born in Nevada County, Arkansas to Clarence Box and Bertha Lenox. Gladys met the Love of her life Charlie Williams at a church service one Sunday in Arkansas and it was love at first site. The two were joined in Holy Matrimony April of 1948 and remained happily married until the Lord called Charlie Home in January 2008. To this union God blessed Gladys and Charlie with 4 sons, Charles, Noah, Nathan and Bruce. Gladys and Charlie would smile when their sons would visit they were always proud of the family that God had blessed them with. Charlie and Gladys moved from Arkansas after the birth of their first Son and settled in the Detroit area. They joined the Russell Street Baptist Church and became full time workers of the ministry. Charlie would become a Deacon and Gladys worked as an Usher and they remained faithful members until Charlie was called home to glory and Gladys could no longer make the drive to Russell street. Gladys was always a joy to be around, she was full of laughter no matter what. She would always find a way to laugh at any given situation. Gladys loved to dance and when her favorite song would come on, she would always find a way to move to the beat. Gladys also loved to shop, she would leave in time to be there when the stores opened and she would go from one Mall to the next Mall shopping, but she also had a cut off time. She would always cut the shopping off in time to get home and have Charlies dinner on the table. Gladys also loved to travel and visit various places. One of her favorite trips was when they traveled to Hawaii. She would always speak of the good times that she had on the island. She was blessed with 6 Grandchildren, Nachella, Nathan (who preceded her in death) Nicole, Del, Charlee and Taylor, and a host of great grandchildren. Whereas Gladys had to say goodbye to Noah and then Nathan when they made their transition she never forgot about her sons. When her oldest son Bishop Charles E. Williams and her youngest son Deacon Bruce Williams reflect on their mother Gladys, in spite of the pain of her passing they still have a smile because that is what she would want them to do.
