Mr. George Sinclair, Jr.

George Sinclair, Jr. was born on September 24, 1942, to the late George and Minnie Lee Sinclair, Sr. in Coahoma, Mississippi. He was the 3rd of seven children (three daughters and four sons). In 1944, his father relocated to Detroit, MI to provide a better life for his family. George accepted Christ at the early age of 18. He was a baptized Holy Ghost filled member of The Original Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Lonnie B. Hill where he served as a minister. Since then, George established two churches in the Detroit area. He also fellow shipped with Word of Faith under the leadership of Keith Butler in his later years. George was educated in the Detroit Public Schools system. He graduated from Western High School in 1960. While in high school he was a member of the varsity basketball team. George met and married his high school sweetheart Sandra Watts and to that union three children were born. After high school graduation, George was employed by Wonder Bread as a delivery driver and B’nai David Jewish Synagogue where he learned a valuable skill as a building and groundskeeper. With those skills he began his first entrepreneur venture in the building maintenance service industry. He later relocated to Dallas, TX where he established a maintenance business, receiving multiple contracts with major corporations in the area. His two sons, George and Quintin joined him after graduating from high school. George later returned to Detroit and started his next business ventures in real estate and retail sales. George retired from business but not from ministry, he was a chosen vessel of God. His ministry reached beyond the sanitary, to anyone anywhere as an ambassador for Christ. George was a private, but funny man, that never meet a stranger. He was an unusual, one of kind man that had a is big personality. The people in his community referred to him as BOTH “HAPPY” and “REVEREND” George loved a good card game, making it fun with his banter. He enjoyed most of all was sharing “The Good News” of the gospel. On Sunday May 7, 2023 George made his transition. He was preceded in death by parents, George and Minnie Lee Sinclair, Sr.; brother Lue James Sinclair; sister Elnora Wilson; sister-in-law Roxie Sinclair and son-in-law Robert Price. He leaves to cherish his memory, his three children. George Sinclair, III, Kathryn Price of Charlotte, NC, Quintin Sinclair (Sonja) of Huntersville, NC, special daughter Wanda Hollins. Two Grandchildren Kishia Russ and Kennedi Price of Charlotte, NC; two great-grandchildren Elise Coleman and Ethan Russ; his two sisters Annie Mae Gibbs (Elder James) and Mae Helen Brown (Bo); his two brothers, Ted Sinclair, Edward Sinclair (Debra) Brother-in-law Apostle Ezetrick Wilson. Former wife and longtime friend Marion Sinclair along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
