Mrs. Fredreckia Delores Tucker

Fredreckia Delores Tucker was born to the union of Fred Douglass Brown and Kathryn Pinckney Brown on June 19th, 1953 in Winterhaven , Florida. She attended the Detroit Public schools and graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1971. She attended Highland Park Community College and Wayne State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing in 1975. At the age of (12) she was stricken with scoliosis , which kept her bed ridden for over a year. During this time, she developed an intimate relationship with GOD, promising him that she would be an angel of mercy, serving others. She went on to not only a job, nor a career, but her life’s calling as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years at the DMC Hutzel Hospital System. During her “life’s calling” she received numerous awards and certifications, some of them being ; Harvard University Health Study, National Nurses Week Unit Winners for 3 years, Award of Excellence in Family Nursing, Award of Excellence Wizard Award, Hutzel Hospital Award and she was named Nurse of the Year for Three Years. She was greatly loved by the Doctors, Nurses, Personnel, patients and those she encountered. Nursing and caring for others was more than her career, it was her calling. She married Mark J. Tucker on July 26th 1986 and this union resulted in a blended family of (4) sons, Stephen P. Brown (Cindy), Mark C. Tucker, Troy C. Tucker (Toni) and Timothy C. Tucker. There are (16) grandchildren, and (4) great-grandchildren. Fredreckia and Mark enjoyed a marriage filled with love, compassion, deep commitment to each other and to their family. She developed a special and close relationship to GOD at an early age and was a woman of deep faith. Her faith was present at all times and she always lived in the warm sunshine of GOD’s amazing grace. The motto of she and Mark’s marriage was “The Best is Yet to Come.” Fredreckia was always so proud of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and found so much joy in the love and closeness that they always shared. Fredreckia was a special woman with a generous heart, a woman of faith who frequently opened her home and her arms to embrace others and welcome them into her family. To their sons, grandchildren and all their close friends, she was another mother to them. Her home was the neighborhood house where everyone gathered. She was always family oriented and found ways to make a difference in people’s lives with her generosity and caring nature. She became the family matriarch of her family and extended family who were always welcome in to her home. She was truly the angel of our family and was called home to our Lord on Sunday, October 11th. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Mark J. Tucker, their sons, Stephen, Mark, Troy and Timothy, their 16 Grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Her sisters, Faye, Linda (Reese), June, her brothers Kenneth, Craig, Edward, and Wallace (Eleanor), her Brothers and Sisters In-Laws Charles, Joyce, Rita, June and Lynn. She has a host of Nephews, Nieces, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, close sister-friends, extended family and friends and neighbors. Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred Brown and Kathryn Looper, her stepfather Donald Looper and sister Carrie Brown- Abrahms.
