Mrs. Etta Trawick

In Loving Memory Of Etta Lee Trawick, dedicated Wife, Loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, was born on Saturday, May 30, 1942, in Orville, Alabama to Lee A. and Lula B. Tower. She was the firstborn of 4 sisters. Etta was a wonderful example of love, faith, and hope. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and united with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama under the pastorate of the late Rev. Nelson. Etta graduated in 1961 from Mattie T. Blount High School in Prichard, Alabama. After graduation, she was employed at the Mobile General Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. Etta was joined in holy matrimony with Hyren Trawick, Sr. for 59 years. To this union two children were born, Hyren Trawick, Jr. and Kimone Trawick. The couple relocated to Detroit, Michigan in 1965, where Etta worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company for many years before returning home to Mobile, Alabama. Upon returning home, Etta worked for the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama for over 20 years. In 2001, after retirement she returned to Detroit, Michigan to live. While living in Detroit, she joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended church faithfully. Etta, always giving words of wisdom and encouragement, was significantly known for her style, grace, and love for all. She enjoyed traveling, attending church, dancing, and watching football with her husband. On the evening of September 19, 2022, Etta was gracefully and peacefully ushered into the arms of Christ. She demonstrated her love and compassion for others and Christ throughout her journey of life. Etta was preceded in death by her father, Lee A. Tower, her mother, Lula B. Tower, sister, Rebecca Tower-Boykins, and niece, Rosalind Boykins. Etta leaves to celebrate her life: loving husband, Hyren Trawick, Sr.; son, Hyren Trawick, Jr. of Houston, Texas; daughter, Kimone Trawick and loving partner Corey King of Roswell, GA; one granddaughter Brittany Trawick of Southfield, Michigan; three sisters, Lena Tower of Mobile, Alabama, Andretta Tower of Detroit, Michigan, and Stephanie Tower and loving partner Voizell Jennings of Oak Park, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Terry (Faye) Trawick of Mobile, Alabama, and Connie Trawick of Mobile, Alabama; three devoted nieces, Rosalyn Tower of Detroit, Michigan, Stephanie Tower of Detroit, and Skylar Tower of Oak Park, Michigan; two devoted nephews, Dominique Tower of Detroit, Michigan and Anthony Stonewall, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan; and one devoted great-nephew Cameron Tower of Detroit, Michigan, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. On the evening of September 19, 2022, Etta was gracefully and peacefully ushered into the arms of Christ. She demonstrated her love and compassion for others and Christ throughout her journey of life. The memory of Etta will forever be marked on the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
