Ms. Emma Jean Lockridge

Emma Jean Lockridge was born on July 11, 1945, in Pontiac, MI to the proud parents of David Lee and Mattie Lou Lockridge. Emma was raised in Ferndale, MI, also known as Royal Oak Township (The Township). She completed her education within the Ferndale public school district. She graduated and received her high school diploma from Ferndale High School in 1963. Her first job after high school was dipping ice cream for a year at Superior drug store in Detroit. In 1967 she was blessed with the birth of her one and only son, Jason Maury Lockridge. Jason was the joy of her life and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her son. Emma later decided to further her education and took classes to become a medical assistant. Upon her graduation, Emma began working as a nursing assistant at Metropolitan Hospital for 18 years. She later worked for Oak Creek medical center. She then finished out her medical career working at HAP prepping patients for colonoscopies. Due to health issues, Emma retired early from the medical field. She accepted Christ and began her spiritual journey at Messiah’s Baptist church (Reverend Ambrose Brintley), Crown of Glory (Bishop Jimmy Stallworth) and last attended Warrior of God International Ministries (Apostle Queen Burbidge- proceeded her in death). In July of 2018, Emma was given an award of “appreciation and distinguished recognition of devotion and commitment to church”. Emma loved attending church, serving the lord and helping others. Emma enjoyed being around her family, friends, and fellowshipping with her church members. Her favorite past times were driving fast in her favorite cars; 1972-Monte Carlo and 1979 Chevy Malibu) and eating a good meal. She did not play about her food and orange pop. She loved her siblings; three sisters and one brother. She could talk about them but you “bet not say nothing”. She loved being around her nieces and nephews and she loved taking pictures and traveling. Although she didn’t cook much her two favorite dishes to make were potato salad and vanilla pineapple coconut cake. With her feisty personality, Emma never met a stranger. If she liked you, she would let you know and if she didn’t like you, there was no hesitation with her letting you know that too. Emma Jean Lockridge, aged 80, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Her passing was preceded by parents; David Lee and Mattie Lou Lockridge, Her sister David Elizabeth Stallworth; Her brother Larry Lockridge and her sister Annie Ruth Reeves. To cherish her memory, Emma leaves her son Jason (Connie) Lockridge, her sister Evelyn Lockridge and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and staff members at The Manor of Farmington Hills.
