Mrs. Edith Ann Massey-Robinson

In Loving Memory Of E. Ann Massey was born October 5, 1966 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to the late L.B. and Jannie F. (Morgan) Massey. She was the youngest of four girls born to this union. Ann was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost on August 2, 2004 at Abundance of Life Apostolic Faith Church under the leadership of Pastor Clara M. Simon. Ann was a faithful servant in the house of the Lord. She served as the Youth Department Chair, and Deaconess for several years attending church counsels and youth retreats. After the retirement of her former Pastor, Ann became a member of Agapé Apostolic Church in Milan, Michigan under the leadership of Pastor R.M. Freeman. Ann loved to sing, praise, and worship God. Often you would see her standing with her hands lifted high giving God praise as the songs of Zion and the world of God would come forth in a mighty way. Ann graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1984. She went on to study at Washtenaw Community College. Ann was employed at the University of Michigan as a Food Service Manager where she remained for several years. Because of her passion to work with children, she later accepted a position with Ypsilanti Community Schools and worked in many capacities until being promoted to Dean of Students; a position she truly loved. Ann would be the first to volunteer for field trips, Chaperone homecoming dances, and proms. She coached cheerleading, organized holiday parties, and dinners for staff, students, and their families. These are just a few of the extra things she would do, all while continuing to perform her duties as Dean in the Spirit of excellence. Her liberal heart was felt throughout all the district and community. On July 25, 1992 Ann married the love of her life Melvin L. Robinson Sr. They raised two beautiful children together; Giovanna Nicole and Marcus Louis. God blessed them to spend 32 wonderful years together. Ann was smart, funny, and loved to cook. She was the event planner for family, friends, and anyone who needed a helping hand; she was more than willing to support in any way she could. Ann especially enjoyed being in the kitchen with her granddaughters, Makayla and Maya teaching them how to whip up delicious meals and tasty desserts. Ann had a heart as big as the ocean. You could feel the love upon entering her home she made everyone feel special. No one was a stranger only a welcomed friend to know her was to love her. She loved to laugh and have fun and found the humor in everything! She truly was the life of the party. Ann never adopted the philosophy of “Me my 4 and no more” she was always concerned about the needs of her family and others, and willing to do what she could to make the load a little lighter. She was blessed to be a blessing. Ann departed this life on Thursday, July 11, 2024 and went home to be with the lord surrounded by her loving family. She left an indelible mark on many people to praise God through good and difficult times. A woman of unshakable faith who trusted God to the end. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Melvin L. Robinson. 2 children Giovanna Nicole (April) of Whittaker, Michigan and Marcus Louis (Jasmie) Robinson of Belleville, Michigan; Three grandchildren: Makayla Pittman, Maya Pittman, and Marcus (MJ) Jr., three sisters: Tina LeFlouria, Lanettia (Charles) McMurry of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Sherrlynn Lester of Evansville, Indiana. One brother: Dexter (Jan) Massey of Birmingham, Alabama; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents L.B. and Jannie Massey, 2 brothers Bruce and Curtis Massey; and 1 nephew (godson) Juan Carlos LeFlouria Jr.
