Edith Ann Boozer

Edith Ann Boozer, 54, of Detroit, Michigan was born on September 4, 1968 to Delois and Lester Boozer who preceded her in death. She was one of six children born of this union. She was educated in the Detroit Public Schools and graduated in 1987 from Central High School in Detroit, MI. Known to many as Edee Bee, she was a very loving and compassionate person. Her passion for taking care of others was evident in her pursuit of higher education in the medical field and working as a nurse for several very prominent doctors in the Detroit Area. Edith was married to James Alexander, Jr. on June 28, 1993. To this union, two children were born: Jameka Janee and James Curlin III. She was a private person, but valued family and her closest friendships. She lived life to the fullest…concerts, movies, traveling, dancing, playing cards and picnics in the park. You could bring a smile to her face for sure if you put on some old school R&B. Through her life, she loved the best she could as well as openly proclaimed her belief in, and love of Jesus Christ knowing that through his love, she would be given the right to the Tree of Life! With that understanding, she departed this earthly life on July 2, 2023. Preceding her in this heavenly ascent are her grandparents, Margaret and William Quick; aunt, Sara Quick; Uncle, Willie Quick; brother, Johnny; sister, Denise; and her daughter, Jameka. Left to hold her memories dear is her beloved son, James C. Alexander III; brothers, James, Jerrick and Curtis Boozer of Detroit; Aunt, Emily Williams of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Uncle, Knox L. Quick of High Point, North Carolina, her special friend, Foster; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. To my Mama Mama, I can’t think of any words to say how I am really feeling. You were always there when I needed you. I’m going to miss you so much, you will never be forgotten and always in my heart. ~Your Son, James a.k.a “Lil James” Scripture Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light. ~Matthew 11:28-30 Prayer Dear God, We know not the reason for the our dear Edith’s sudden departure, but you did what you thought best. Even though we had no time to say farewell, not even good-bye, we believe she is resting in the comfort of the place prepared for her in your Kingdom. Now we pray that you bless those that will dearly miss her. Please keep her son close, comfort him, guide him with your loving hand and the support of others. Help us face each new day with hope and the certainty that nothing can take away the good that we have experienced. May we be strong in our memories of Edith, our days be enriched with the closeness of family and friendships, and our lives encircled with laughter, love, and peace until we see her again.
