Mr. Eddy Lloyd Bell

In Loving Memory Of: Eddy Lloyd Bell was born on November 20, 1946 to Curley Bea Bell, in Detroit, MI. He was raised by his mother, grandmother Ocolor Edwards, and stepfather Anderson Brown. His father was Robert Rhodes. He attended Grant Elementary School, Carver Middle School, and graduated from Ferndale High School. He attended Shaw College and graduated with a degree in Business. On September 11, 1970, he enlisted and served in the United States Army, and fought in the Vietnam War, before being honorably discharged on September 1, 1972. He worked for Chrysler Corporation for over 25 years before retirement. He married Martha Ann Giles in 1976 in Ferndale, MI. They had two children from this union, Kyla Shay Bell and Kenton Lloyd Bell. His oldest son, who preceded him in death in September of 2020, Deshon Mac Doughrity, was born prior to this union. His life’s accomplishments truly embodied who he was as a man and father. A gentleman with a true heart to serve, committed to his family and community. Dependable, opinionated, caring, strong, and resilient are just a few of the words that best describe the incomparable, Eddy Lloyd Bell. Being introduced to Christ during his childhood upbringing, he never shied away from knowing where his source of strength came from. He would frequently attend Christian Tabernacle Church in Southfield, MI, and was fond of fellowshipping with other believers. Being a father and grandfather were by far his finest accomplishments. Some may have considered him to be a man of small physical stature, but with a personality, work ethic, and smile like his, he was considerably the tallest man in the room. He could often be found at “The Office” we all know as Motor City Casino. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling to his favorite city Las Vegas, NV and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. His loving heart, smile, and love for fashion are just a handful of things he will be most remembered for. He was a man, with an awesome sense of style and humor who truly enjoyed the finer things in life. He candidly possessed a go big or go home mentality. Eddy Lloyd Bell was one man who could truly be counted on. There was never a time his family needed him that he wasn't there. Whether it was slipping you $100 just because you were, in his eyes, doing awesome, supporting your business ventures, or being an awesome gift giver, he was truly a man that enjoyed being a blessing to others with his generosity. He was an extraordinary father, brother, and friend.
