Ms. Earline Thomas

In Loving Memory Of; Earline (Oliver) Thomas was born on June 14, 1952 in River Rouge, Michigan to the late Benjamin and Arstric Oliver. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined First Baptist Church of Ecorse. Earline attended Ecorse Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Ecorse High School class of 1970. During her high school years, she played clarinet for the Ecorse Red Raiders Marching Band. Earline furthered her education by attending Wayne County Community College where she received an Associate of Arts Degree. In addition to her associate degree, Earline obtained many professional certifications. Earline was united in holy matrimony to Ronald Keith Thomas on October 4, 1975; where they spent 25 years together. This union was blessed with two children, Jennifer (Thomas) Williams and Omar Thomas. Earline later joined Family Victory Fellowship Church where she was an active member and served as the media coordinator for the BLOOM Conference, as well as participating in other church activities. Earline was also active in the Red Hat Society, Inc., and was an avid supporter of community involvement and local government. She volunteered endless hours helping facilitate the polling process for the City of Lathrup Village. In addition to her service to the community, Earline was a self proclaimed “basketball mom” helping young women develop leadership skills through sport via her non profit Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) organization, The Michigan Spartans. Under Earline’s leadership hundreds of young women received college scholarships. Earline spent over 20 years in various leadership positions at AT&T (formerly known as Michigan Bell/Ameritech). Upon retirement she decided to pursue her passion in beauty and wellness by obtaining her esthetician license from David Pressley School of Cosmetology. She was committed to making all women feel beautiful in their own skin, and often volunteered at Beaumont Hospital with the Look Good, Feel Better project. Currently, Earline was employed at WDET Public Radio Station on the campus of Wayne State University, where she found extreme joy in her current role as an Accounting Assistant. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, Earline was loved by many; and guided by her spiritual values and love for humanity. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life on Friday, September 13, 2019.
