Mr. Dwight Allen Dorsey

Dwight Allen Dorsey was born July I. 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to the lace Marion Letman Dorsey. On March 20, 2021, Dwight transitioned from his earthly labors to his heavenly rewards. Dwight gave his life co Christ at a young age. He truly loved the Lord. He was a member of St. Stephen A. M. E. Church where his family, the Leemans, worshiped since 1923. In his service to St. Stephen he served as Lay President and a member of the steward board. Dwight was one of the youngest recipients of the Eagle Scout Rank in the Boy Scouts of America. Dwight was a proud graduate of Detroit's Cass Tech High School. After high school he honorably served in the United Scates Navy from 1972-1980 as a navy corpsman. He served on various naval ships in California and on the USS Prairie in Viernam. After his military service Dwight thoroughly enjoyed helping people through his profession as a certified respiratory therapist, showing compassion and comforting care for both the patient and family. In his spare time, Dwight loved to play golf and bowl. He was an avid fan of the Lake rs, Alabama Crimson Tide football team and a Tom Brady fan. Dwight was president of the Virginia Park Association. Dwight married Belinda Carol Walker Ewing on July 13, 2001. Dwight and Belinda loved co go on cruises although Dwight told Belinda he never wanted to be on another ship in the ocean because it was too much wacer to drink. One of Dwight's greatest joys was spending time with his family at the family cottage on Little Pleasant Lake in Grass Lake, Michigan. Dwight was predeceased by his mother Marion Leeman Dorsey(GIGI), Uncle Samuel Leeman (Buddy), who was like a father co him, Aunt Janie Leeman (AJ), who was like a second mother, Uncle Maurice Leeman, cousin Maurice W. Leeman, grandparents James and Gladys Letman. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Belinda, sons Larry Ewing Jr (T aaj), Darnell Ewing. Grandchildren, who lovingly called him PaPa, Donaca aka Lil Mama, Dariell aka Big Girl, Darreya aka Ya Ya, Naasir aka 1st grandson, Amir aka Headbone, Dariana aka Onnie, Raasid aka Chipmunk, Darnell Jr aka DJ, Samiyah aka Sha Nae Nae, Jamir aka #10. Sister Carolyn Hodges (David), Brother in-law Ernest Walker (Dorneta) Nephews: Kenneth Hodges, Kevin Hodges (Ruth), Jevon Hodges (Josie Victor), Ernest Walker Jr., and Kenneth Walker. Nieces: Annice Brunson & Anikka Seegars. Grandniece Samone Hodges (Tapiwa Kaseke), Monica Rodriguez, Rikki Rodriguez, Braelyn Brunson. Grandnephews: Xavier Clark, Luke Rodriguez, Ezra Rodriguez, and a host of beloved relatives and very dear friends.
