Mr. Donovan DeVante Wilkins

In Loving Memory Of Donovan Devante Wilkins "Poppa" was born on January 8, 1996, to Lynn Wilkins-Marshall in Detroit, MI. He was the youngest of five siblings Kennedy, Charles, Marquis, and Keon. Donovan attended Power, Hope, and Grace Bible Church in his younger years, and later was baptized at Oak Park Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a faithful member and the church drummer. Donovan was very active in his church with the outreach ministry, serving families within the community. Donovan attended and graduated from Southfield High School in 2014, where he played the bass drum in the Southfield Blue Jays marching band. Donovan enjoyed music, bowling, traveling, making people laugh, singing, and spending time with his family and his long-time girlfriend, Jasmine. Some of the highlights of his life were playing basketball with his cousin, Kennedy; playing football with his nephew, Xavier, letting his imagination run wild with his niece, Gabby; and traveling with his nephew, Charlie Ben. As the youngest of five, Donovan was always surrounded by one of his brothers. Donovan loved to watch sports with his big brother, Kennedy; be the voice of reason for his brother Charles and talk about their love of animals; crack jokes all night with his brother Marquis; and make music and music videos with his brother Keon. Donovan devoted his time to caring for his mother and Aunt Sue whenever they needed him. Whether it was to pray, run errands, travel across the world, or just be a listening ear. Donovan served as a confidant to his mother, and he never minded when she tagged along on dates with him and his girlfriend, Jasmine. For years Donovan worked at TJ Maxx, where many will remember seeing his smiling face as they entered the store. Most recently Donovan was employed at Gesher Human Services, where in a short time he made a huge impact on the lives of his clients and coworkers with his larger-than-life personality and caring nature. Donovan had an infectious smile and a positive attitude no matter the circumstances, that will forever be remembered. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Wilkins, his aunt Carol Conley, his grandmother, Zella Dean Marshall, his cousin Toni-Ann Watson, and his uncle Larry Marshall. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lynn; his brothers, Kennedy (Danielle), Charles (Kristina), Marquis, and Keon; his niece, Gabrielle; his nephews Xavier and Charles; his special aunt Sue; his uncle Christopher; girlfriend Jasmine, "Sugar Cookie"; best friend, Kerwin; family friend, Lionel; favorite cousin Kennedy, "Ken-Ken”, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends who loved him dearly.
