Mrs. Desiree Devon Henderson

Desiree Devon Fox-Henderson was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 15, 1959 to Eddie Lee and Sarah Fox. Having confessed Christ at an early age, she was baptized into the Body of Believers at The Israel Missionary Baptist Church by The Reverend Samuel S. Jenkins who was the Pastor. As a young girl growing up she enjoyed participating in church activities. At the age of sixteen she along with many other young ladies were presented to Christian society in a Debutante Pageant at The Church. Desiree also sang in The Youth/Inspirational Choir at The Church. She was the featured soloist on many songs, notably “Put A Little Love In Your Heart”, and “Jesus Will Work It Out”! Desiree completed her education in the Detroit Public School System. On September 26, 1992, Desiree married the love of her life, Charles Henderson. Together they raised two beautiful children Lakita and Clarence. Desiree took her role as wife and mother very seriously. She was ever sensitive to the needs of her family. More often than not putting the needs of her family and friends before her own. Desiree will mostly be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She will also be remembered as a true friend with good advice, kind support and someone you could call if you needed anything. After a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 4:03 PM, Desiree was ushered into the presence of our God as her family prayed, praised and sang praises unto The Lord. Her beloved parents, Eddie Lee and Sarah Fox, along with three of her brothers Eddie Lee Jr., Sylvester, and Milton preceded her in death. Rejoicing in the blessing of her life are her husband Charles Henderson, whom she affectionately called her “Chocolate Chip”. Her children Lakita Lashaye Fox and Clarence Williams III. Her granddaughter Lateria Lashaye Taylor ((Doshan). Her great grandchildren Doshan Jr., Dakari, D’Ariel and D’Azjah. Her siblings Dorothy Ann Jenkins (Robert), Deborah Fox, Marvin Fox (Terrie), Bertram Fox, Dmitri Fox, and Andrew Fox, Sr. (Gabriel); her mother-in-love Eloise Washington. Her sisters-in-love Diane Fox and Gwen Henderson. Her brothers-in-love Claude Henderson and Clarence Henderson (Genese). Very special cousins Renee Bettes-Barnes (Brad); Lamont Bettes (Sharon) and Gerome Bettes and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. The Clock The clock of life is wound but once, And no man has the power, To tell just when the clock will stop, At an early or late hour. Now is the only time we have. Let us live, love and toil with a will. Let us place no trust in tomorrow. For the clock may then be still! The Henderson and Fox Families
