Ms. Delita Colette Booth

In Loving Memory Of Delita Colette Booth was born on May 9, 1952 in Houston, Texas. She was the first of six children of Robert, Sr. and Gloria Booth. Delita accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Peace Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1980s. Delita attended the Detroit Public School System. While in high school, Delita participated in Co-op, an after school work program for students with a business curriculum. Delita graduated from Cooley High School in 1970. After high school, Delita attended Wayne County Community College receiving an Associate of Arts Degree in 1992. She continued her education at Wayne State University. Delita held a variety of secretarial positions before being hired by Recorders Court which at times was under the City of Detroit, Wayne County and the State of Michigan. She was employed as a data entry clerk, retiring in October 2013 after almost 40 years of public service. Never having any children of her own, Delita loved all of her nieces and nephews. She told each one that and treated each one as if they were her favorite. She loved dancing and music and had a large and varied music collection. She loved decorating her home and had collections of perfume bottles, pianos, mirror picture frames and tea cups. Called Colette by one and all, she especially loved her Barbie dolls and had an extensive collection of those as well. One of her most cherished memories was attending the 2016 National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention in Houston, Texas with her sisters Cheryl and Sandra. Colette was like a substitute mother to her three younger siblings. She was nicknamed Cold Cutts by her brothers because she would not hesitate to set you straight if she thought you were stepping out of line. Delita Colette departed this life on July 10, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memory siblings Cheryl, Sandra, Robert (Michelle), Robin and Kerry Booth; nephews and nieces David, Kashi, Omorede, Keisha, LeQuilla, Robert III, Iman and Donovan: a host of great-nephews and nieces; cousins and friends and family matriarch Pauline McKinney. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert, Sr. and Gloria Booth, a beloved niece Juanita Booth-Newhouse and brother-in-law Keith Collins.
