Mr. Cyril Huene

Celebrating The Life Of Cyril Huene: Cyril Huene was born on March 18, 1933. He was born to Agnes Huene in St. Louis, Missouri. At the age of 2, Cyril was placed into foster care through the Catholic Charities Organization, where he was placed with the Owens family. With his new family he was raised as one of their own and loved dearly. He was taught the values of love, honor and respect, that molded him into the kind, loving man he was. His Christian Journey Cyril was all about the Lord's business. He was raised in the Catholic faith until the age of 58, when he was baptized into the Baptist faith at Washington Tabernacle Church, St. Louis, Missouri, under the guidance of Pastor B. Williams. Cyril served on the Usher Ministry for five years before moving to Jennings, Missouri, where he became a member of Good News Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri, under the guidance of Pastor B. Crawford. Cyril served on the Usher Ministry and attended Bible Study faithfully; he was also a volunteer bus driver for the church. Cyril joined Detroit World Outreach in 2009, when he relocated to Detroit, Michigan, and under the guidance of Bishop Ben Gibert remained a faithful member of DWO. His Education Cyril graduated with high honors from Beaumont High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Military Experience He joined the United States Air Force on April 3, 1953, at the age of 20, where he was stationed at Osan Air Force Base, in Seoul, Korea. He served with the 49th Fire Brigade, as a fireman. Cyril was honorably discharged on July 11, 1956. Cyril and his fellow soldiers formed an organization after service called the 46th Veterans Association, with chapters nationwide. The members remained friends and in contact with each other throughout their lives. Work Cyril had his first job at the age of 12, at the Common Grill owned by the Grandberry family of St. Louis, Missouri. The Grandberry family became part of his family in his life. Cyril worked as a quality engineer at Forest Park Community College until he retired at the age of 62. Cyril also worked for TWA Airlines in transportation part-time until retirement at the age of 70. Cyril also owned his own landscaping company for many years. Marriage Cyril was wed on July 27, 1991, to his beloved wife Barbara J. Huene of Detroit, Michigan. They had a beautiful ceremony in the yard of his new mother, Elizabeth Stovall. They celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on July 27, 2017. Activities Cyril loved serving the Lord. He loved ushering. He loved interacting with all kinds of people, starting friendships that lasted lifetimes. He loved dancing and quality time with his family. He loved to travel. Landscaping was his passion. He loved his sports, with a cold can of Milwaukee's Best and his Now & Laters. Cyril Huene departed his earthly life on August 7, 2017 at 4:59 a.m. He didn't suffer and was not ill. He closed his eyes and went to sleep with the Lord.
