Mr. Curtis Paul Johnson

Celebrating The Life Of Curtis Paul Johnson: Some people come into this world and exist but never really lived life to the fullest. I can honestly say that I was here, I was loved and lived life to the best of my ability. My story was not perfect, but I was a Blessed man who had a Blessed life and will always be grateful for that. Here it goes ... My name is Curtis Paul Johnson. I was born to the late Mr. Curtis Dean Johnson and Mrs. Pauline Buckner France. I entered this world on June 11, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was in Indiana where I learned many skills and hobbies from my father who taught me all about cars, and bikes. Growing up I was known as Paul by many who knew me well. My mother and I moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1952, where I went to school at Northwestern High. I later met and married Mary Ann Miller in 1963 and had four children, Curtis Anthony, Kenneth Paul, Ronald Lynn, and Regina Nicole. I was Blessed with another daughter named Soccora who we call Shawnie. I loved all my children who all Blessed me with wonderful grandchildren. I worked, and I had a lot of hobbies including going to the casino, outdoor barbecues and being with family and friends. I worked at Uniroyal Tire Co. for many years and those skills coupled with skills my father taught me in the back of his house later helped me to build the business at Ace Generator and Starter shop in Detroit. You couldn't touch me as to my knowledge on cars and bikes and on many occasions, I traveled to Indiana and Kentucky on my motorcycle. For those who know me I am quite comical, always witty and ready with the last word. This was part of my personality, but if you needed me, I was always there willing and ready to help anybody wherever I could. I had a wonderful life which included a lifelong companion named Verdell (aka Vert) who I spent many loving years with. I was truly blessed in so many ways to be her partner and for that I was grateful and thankful for everyday that she was part of my life. She helped me in so many ways to get through the difficult times and did everything possible to ease my pain and build my confidence. My beliefs were my own, but I tell you this, I know where I'm going, and I am resting in God's hands now. The journey was a long one, but I made it and now I'm at peace.
