Baby Boy Cassius Hill

In Loving Memory Of: Cassius Lee-Cyrus Hill was introduced to this world on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 1:05 P.M. at Hutzel Hospital. He was named after the late great “Cassius Clay” with inspiration of the series with Forest Whittaker the actor “Godfather of Harlem.” He also was honored with the name from his spiritual mother who is of modern day Muslim (Catholic) religion as well as one of his favorite uncles who had dreams of being a professional boxer. Blessed by the Lord himself and inherited from the gift of love and humbleness of life, Cassius was eager for his new found family. His mother, Jennifer Hill, age 28, was always ready for his positivity energy. “The most joyful little angel that I ever met especially in this horrific time of need due to the COVID-19 pandemic." Even though his mother was a struggling single mom of two, he was not exposed to this negative outcome on “how to raise as black.” Within 10 months, two months before his birthday, he was already as active as a 10 year old preteen. The eyes on his face would “live-in” anyone’s heart. He had his mother and stepfather/half father, ShaQuan King, wrapped around his finger. There wasn’t anything he could want for with his strong support system through both families in South Carolina and Michigan. With the biblical background and history filled with intelligence, love prosperity and laughter, he was able to work, talk, and stand up on his own. His papa would exercise with him at 6:00 A.M. every morning which strengthened his legs because he was slightly bow-legged. No one could stop their emotional bond, not even his young elegant mother. He had a loving enormous family with traditional and genuine celebrations of events. Even through times of isolation, he was a sporadic young boy who sparked everyone’s heart. Cassius maybe still a baby, but he was starting walk, talk, even start feeding himself. He was addicted to his stepfather, their bond was just as strong as the grandparents. Everyone just knew he was the boy to change our life just not this way. On September 10, 2021, Cassius was called home to be with the Lord. His mommy cries everyday for him to come back “Even though it's impossible to get my son back, he will always be within my heart, my love, because God told me, and I wanted for my children was to accept the Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.” I'm sorry as a mother my daughter will never forget her brother, mommy will always remind her of this pleasant memory. Cassius Lee leaves behind a host of cousins, great-uncles, great-aunts, grandparents, uncle friends, step-father, sisters, and loving mother. May his soul rest in peace and thanks for the love you brought to this family and the gentle peace you left for us to remain strong.
